Saying Goodbye

Well the day has finally come. Though Harry and I have been broken up since February we still lived together, ate together and pretty much did everything we did when we were a couple. But today is the day Harry heads back to Austria.

This morning Harry ran around a few hours finishing up things and making sure he had everything before we left for the airport. Harry's flight was at 4:30pm but we needed to be there 3 hours in advance so we got there around 1pm and after going into the wrong terminal we finally found the correct terminal and got in line as the ticket windows were still closed.

Since Harry was here illegally for eight years we weren't sure how easy it was going to be for him to leave without immigration getting involved. Well the ticket windows opened and we walked up and he gave them his temporary passport and print out ticket. A few minutes later we took his bags to the X-ray scanners and walked to the entrance to the TSA check.

We said our goodbyes.. I thought I would cry but I didn't. I did cry a bit when we were getting ready to leave for the airport but I kept stopping myself. But now that we were saying goodbye.. no tears. I knew it would only be temporary. We didn't really say much to each other. I gave him a hug, said we had a great 8 years and he entered the line to go through the TSA.

I walked back to car and manage to get on the freeway before the tears started rolling. But I couldn't breakdown while driving on the freeway so I held it in. I got a text from Harry about a half hour later informing me that he got through TSA with no issues and it now waiting to get on the plane. I stopped by El Pollo Loco for some comfort food and made my way home. Soon as I got on the dirt road to our house the waterworks started to flow.

I made it home and greeted Daisy who kept looking for Harry. As I started to eat I looked over at Harry's recliner and it hit me that Harry was not coming back, he's not out at the store and will return in an hour. He's never coming back. As I looked around there are so many things in this house that remind me of him. This was our house, we purchased this together, we painted every room, we purchased every piece of furniture. I couldn't stop myself and I just balled. I cried uncontrollably like I had never cried before. My heart was hurting as the realization of my situation hit me like a brick wall.

Poor Daisy had no idea what was going on, I lost my appetite and just felt numb. The crying continued on an off for hours, but I'm feeling a bit better. It's funny I know we are broken up and it's for the better. Both Harry and I agree that our situation was not good. But being with someone for eight years and seeing them day in and day out, regardless on being partners or not I love him and will always love him.

I have had so many facebook comments, tweets and texts of love and support and I appreciate it but for this weekend I just want to be alone. I don't want to talk to anyone or see anyone. I just need time to recover from this I know it will take more then a weekend to get over it but I'm taking babies steps and putting one foot in front of the other. I promise I'll be back to my happy go lucky Kenny but for now I just need to cry.

I'm Blown Away!!!

So if you are a regular follower of my tweets, facebook or blog you'll know that my podcasting equipment was stolen on the last day of San Diego Comic Con. Well several folks/friends approached me about doing something about it, Brian suggested a Kickstarter project which I like and he just ran with it. Next thing I knew we had some pretty sweet rewards to offer and over the next two weeks Brian, Teresa and I worked on getting this Kickstarter project going. Well it launched at midnight tonight and I was worried that I asked for too much that I wasn't going to able to make the $2500 goal in 21 days.

Well five minutes after I had posted it, I had 3 backers and my total was $350. So I went to bed feeling pretty good about this. Got up this morning and I had 16 backers and my total was $830 and as I was getting ready for work it went up to $1020. I was almost halfway there and it had only been eight hours. When I got to work at 10am my total was up to $1380, and I was getting a ton more backers.. then around 11am someone purchased our big ticket item for $650 and that gave me a total of $2030. By noon I was just a few hundred away from my goal of $2500 then someone purchased one of the $400 rewards and that did it.. that pushed me pass my goal and I'm currently at $2630.

This project funded in 13 hours.. AMAZING!!! I am totally blown away and overwhelmed by the support I have received. I can't thank you all enough for supporting me and my little podcasts. With these funds I'll be able to buy new and even better podcasting equipment.

We still have lots of great Guild / Knights of the Guild rewards to give a way. If you want to make a donation please do so. The additional money will go to upgrading equipment and paying for URL's and websites.

Thanks again everyone!!!

Show Notes:

It’s time once again for the next CompanionCasts for The Guild Season Five. First of all be sure you watched Episode 3 of season 5 “Megagame-o-ramacon!”. If you haven’t seen it yet watch it HERE

Our Season 4 CompanionCasts were a huge hit so we thought we would do them again for Season 5. So what is a CompanionCast?? It’s a behind the scene look at the current episode of The Guild.

I was on set everyday while they shot Season 5. As actors and crew were finished with scenes I would try and speak to them. Get some inside info about the scene they just shot. I also interviewed Felicia Day and Kim Evey about the storyline and Sean Becker about the directing. Each one of these CompanionCasts will be episode specific and will vary in length depending on how much guildie goodness I am able to gather.

In this CompanionCast I interview Felicia Day, Sean Becker, Kim Evey, Sandeep Parikh, Robin Thorsen, Jeff Lewis, Amy Okuda, Vince Caso, Hayley Holmes and Greg Aronowitz

I hope you enjoy a look behind the scenes of Season 5 Episode 3 “Megagame-o-ramacon!”

Harry Potter in Six Minutes

This is pretty good.. Movies 1 - 7 part 1 told in 6 minutes.

In A Funk

Not sure what's really going on with me but I've been so tired and lazy this entire week. Maybe it's work, the stress levels are off the chart and I just keep telling myself six more weeks.. only six more weeks. But when I get home I'm exhausted and all I want to do is eat dinner and watch TV.

Well I can't do that. I have the next CompanionCast due tomorrow Friday 8/12, the next MASH 4077 Podcast due next Monday 8/15 and the next Knights of the Guild podcast due next Monday 8/15 and not to mention I'm trying to launch my new podcast Confessions of a Fanboy this weekend.

The past few days I have sat in front of my computer around 10pm to get some work done on any of these podcast and I'm just not motivated. I did a bit of work on the next MASH podcast on Monday and yesterday I forced myself to work from 10pm to Midnight on tomorrows CompanionCast. I haven't even recorded the next KOTG yet, not sure that's going to happen.

I'm sure it's a combination of work, stress, the fact that Harry leaves on Saturday and Daisy leaves on Wednesday.. things are kind of crazy in my life at the moment. Hopefully it's a temporary funk. But I still have to work tonight on finishing the CompanionCast for S5E3 and then this weekend on my other three podcasts. Gotta get my podcasts out!!

Visiting Family

Today Harry and I went to visit my family. This was Harry's last time visiting them before he heads back to Austria. We did our routine and picked up my Dad and took him to our favorite Chinese restaurant called Hong Kong. We then went back to my brothers house and hung out with my dad, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. I played with Kenobi, he just loves the iPad so when I brought mine in he had to play with it as well. We played games for about an hour and then he found the Photobooth app and we had a little fun.

Harry said his goodbyes (for the final time) and we made our way home. It seems like everything Harry does this week will be his last. Last time he had to drive to my Dads, last time he is going to eat Hong Kong and Miguel's Jr. (which we picked up for dinner later that day). Last time he'll visit with my family. Lot's of last times. :(
