Just Another Friday
Not a whole lot going on today. Looked for worked with no luck. Worked on several podcasts and continued my "spring cleaning". I knew throwing away or giving away stuff would be difficult but it's harder then I expected. I know that I should just toss everything into a bag and be done with it but part of me doesn't like the idea of just wasting things when they can be used by others and the other part of me wonders if I could get any money for selling it instead. But selling things takes alot of work as well and I really want to get my apartment back in order as it currently looks like a hoarder lives here. I was hoping to be done by this weekend but there is no way that's going to happen. Now my goal is to finish by the end of February :)

Possible Work, NerdStrong and Minions
Finally some good news about a possible job. I talked to a friend of mine who runs a post house and he mentioned that he might have a post production coordinator position available at the end of February. Now post production coordinator is a step down from my usual post production supervisor job, which of course means about half the pay but it also means half the stress as I would be assisting the post super and everything wouldn't be on my shoulders. So less stress but also less money but since I'm struggling to find work and this would be solid work from March to July I'd take it.
Of course nothing is concrete, he'll know more mid February and of course I'll continue to look for any kind of post coordinator/ post supervisor work before then. It's my first job bite since that CNN pilot job ended back in November. Keep your fingers crossed for me :)
I made my appointment for my one on one with Andrew over at NerdStrong for next Tuesday. Once I complete that I can start taking classes. I'm super excited for this but also hesitant as I've never had a trainer and I know he's going to push me to my physical limits.
And one last thing.. There is this really fun Superbowl commercial staring my favorite little yellow guys... Minions. Check it out!!!

Babylon 5 Thirdspace
TV night with my buddy Robert continues tonight.. we are still watching Babylon 5, tonight's episode was the third TV movie "Thirdspace" This movie deals with an enormous artifact that is discovered in Hyperspace and towed to the Babylon 5 station for investigation, at which point the xenoarchaeological organization Interplanetary Expeditions sends a representative, Dr. Elizabeth Trent, to take control of the examination. After being placed near the station, the artifact begins to
influence the dreams of many inhabitants of Babylon 5, and eventually
controls many of them during their waking hours as well. These thralls,
led by Deuce,
first demand that the excavation be accelerated and then become
increasingly violent towards the rest of the Babylon 5 population. Eventually it is revealed by Lyta Alexander that the artifact is a Jumpgate built by the Vorlons
a million years ago with a purpose that cannot be expressed in human
language except as an attempt to make contact with the gods. In reality,
Thirdspace is inhabited by a violent race that posed a threat even to
the Vorlons, and the ensuing battle ended with a group of Vorlons
controlled by the Thirdspace entities capturing the artifact and
jettisoning it into hyperspace. When the device
is finally activated, the Thirdspace aliens stream out and begin an
assault on Babylon 5; the violent behavior of the individuals under the
artifact's control is intended to disrupt the station's attempt to
defend itself. The struggle is ended when John Sheridan enters the artifact and detonates a nuclear bomb.
I find it interesting that this TV movie takes place between episodes 409 and 414 of season four. I wonder if this started out as an actual episode for season four and for some reason it never came into full realization until season five when it aired.
Overall I really enjoyed it. It had some really good action scenes, the CG was well done and the story was very interesting. I like that we got to see most of the regular cast including Ivanova. We didn't have any G'kar, Londo or Garibaldi. I feel bad for Zach as he finally confesses his love/interest in Lyta and she's out of it so she doesn't even hear him. Though I found it a bit far fetched that Zach wouldn't have noticed her blank stare and unusual behavior. I liked that this story tied into the Vorlons again. It's interesting to me that these aliens in Thirdspace are still ready to go and attack us as soon as the jumpgate is opened though it's been a million years since it was opened last. And it was awesome watching Sheridan rocketing himself through the battling ships... talk about being fearless.. that was crazy.
This was another fun addition to the series and I'm looking forward to the fourth TV movie next.

Fantastic 4 Trailer & Agent Carter Ep 4
So they released a teaser trailer for the new rebooted Fantastic Four movie. Now I know I'm not in the majority but I enjoyed the first two Fantastic Four movies and really couldn't understand why Fox would want to reboot this series already but then again I said they same thing about Sony rebooting Spiderman so soon after the first three movies came out. Anyways they released a trailer and I have to say it looks pretty good, it looks much darker then the original incarnation of this world.
It's funny because when the trailer came out there were strong options on both sides. Some enjoyed it (like me) and some just hated it, claimed that it showed nothing. First of all it's a teaser trailer, all it's suppose to do is peak your interest and make you want to see more.. and I think it did that. You may disagree and that's cool, just don't see the movie. For those who haven't seen the trailer yet here it is.
I think I've talked about this before on this blog but it's come up again recently. How long does something stay in the "spoiler" zone, an hour, a day, a week or none... it's a free for all.
Tonight I watched the latest episode of Agent Carter S1 Ep 4 "The Blitzkrieg Button" After learning that Brannis and the Leviathan attacker, Sasha Demidov, were supposed to have died during the Battle of Finow, Dooley travels to Germany to speak with the Nazi colonel who lead the opposing forces, and though he doesn't learn how Brannis and Demidov survived, Dooley does discover that their Russian forces were seemingly massacred before the Nazis even arrived. With Carter's only job to collect lunch orders, she meets up with Stark, who has secretly returned in the wake of his technology's discovery. Looking at photographs Carter takes of the weapons, he identifies one of them as the Blitzkrieg Button, which he claims can cause a permanent blackout throughout the city. However, a suspicious Carter opens the device to find a vial of Rogers' blood. Angry at Stark for lying to her, she hides the vial. The criminal who smuggled Stark into New York, but was scammed out of his money by Carter and Jarvis, follows Carter back to her apartment, but he is killed by her new neighbor Dottie Underwood.
Another fantastic episode. This series continues to impress. I'm so bummed that it's only eight episode long which means we are already halfway through it. It was great seeing Stark get punched by Peggy, he so deserved it. I like that Stark and Jarvis' relationship with Peggy are on the rocks after this lie. I liked that you thought the blonde haired German guy was the "bad" guy and about to attack when the sweet neighbor girl pulled out her ninja skills and twisted his head around snapping his neck... she a bit crazy. I kind of knew that she was a spy and moved in next door to Peggy to watch her. I assume she is also the one who killed Carter's womanizing co-worker.
It will be interesting to see how Jarvis gets Carter's trust back.. I don't think she'll make it easy but I hope they do mend fences as I really enjoy their chemistry. Oh I really LOVED the cameo by Stan "The Man" himself... nicely done.
This is one of a few current TV series that I count down the days to a new episode.. can't wait to see what's next, looks like the Howling Commandos are back... Woot!!!!

Cleaning, Downton & a New Gotham
Not a whole lot going on today.. I pretty much have been doing the same thing everyday for the past week or so. I get up, go on my jog, look for work online, continue to do my "spring" cleaning, work on some aspect of podcasting and watch some TV.
Today while spring cleaning I put on season five of Downton Abbey. It's been airing on PBS here in the states and got me in the mood to watch it again so while I cleaned I watched all eight episodes and also the Christmas special. I can't get enough of that series.
During the evening I chatted with my buddy Erik and we watched S1 Ep13 of Gotham "Welcome Back, Jim Gordon". I was not digging this episode at first. It felt like all the characters reverted to their "older" versions of their characters. It was funny as I was telling Erik that we haven't seen Bruce or Kat in a while and sure enough they had a small b-story in this episode. But I will say about half way through this episode I really started enjoying it and by the end some big changes have been made. Will see if they hold but I really enjoyed where they were taking the story.

Potter Podcast, Firefly Monopoly & SAG Awards
Today I recorded my second Harry Potter podcast for my friend Rico's podcast Treks in Sci Fi. Like with the first one it was a lot of fun talking about one of my favorite book and movie series. We covered the second book/movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. We recorded for about two hours and after I edit in some audio clips from the movie this podcast is going to be a long one. It should be released mid February.
I came across another cool Firefly themed game. Last year I picked up Firefly Clue and this year it looks like I'm going to be picking Firefly Monopoly. Don't know any of the details yet just saw a picture but I love me some monopoly.
I got to hang out with my buddy Aaron today. He crashed at my place last night after our D&D game. Today we hung out and had lunch at Olive Garden.
SAG awards were on tonight and it was fun watching as many of the winners were first time and that always makes me happy. One of my favorite winners was Joanne Froggatt for Best Actress for Downton Abbey.
