Playing Minecraft
Today I got to spend a few hours playing some Minecraft with my buddies Chris, Robert and Brett. This was truly a special occasion as the four of us rarely have our schedules line up. It was tons of fun as we went on a little adventure across the lands looking for chickens. I learned how to build a boat and sail over water. I ventured out on my own and got lost several times but always seemed to managed to find the team again, which is a big deal as I am horrible at directions when it comes to that game. Overall it was fantastic game play and I hope we get to play together again real soon.

Last Day, Strange Magic, Hobbit Song & Screeners
So I have a house guest staying with me for the next few weeks. My friend Lydia is visiting from Switzerland. She arrived late last night and will be here until the second week of December.
It's the last day on this five week gig. It's strange for me as being a post production supervisor the bulk of my job happens at the beginning and the end of a show. Since I'm being released about a month before the pilot is done it's strange that I'm not going to be around to really do the bulk of my job and make sure everything is to network spec. But it is what it is, and they are out of money so I am being released from the gig. I enjoyed my time on this pilot and enjoyed everyone I worked with. Hopefully the EP or Line Producer moves on to another show and needs a post super and think of me.. but until then I'm on the look out for another post supervisor position if anyone hears of anything.
I want to share a few videos that I came across... the first one is the trailer of a new George Lucas movie called Strange Magic. Looks like my kind of movie.
The next video was released by Peter Jackson and it's the final song for the third and final Hobbit movie The Battle of the Five Armies. It's also a good message to all the fans. I love it.
And finally I got some new screeners today...
Boxtrolls, which I'm really looking forward to seeing. Whiplash, which I heard is pretty good and The Theory of Everything, which I saw a sneak preview of and really enjoyed it. They might be coming in very slowly but I'm glad the screening season has begun.
I'm still expecting at least another 20 or so screeners to come in before the end of December.

My First 30 Days
Thirty days ago I was diagnosed as pre-diabetes, my sugar levels were 6.4 and to be officially diabetic your sugar levels need to be 6.5 and above... so I have come as close to being diabetic without being official. So I had to make some changes... some major changes.
I have 90 days before I have to go back and be re-tested in hopes that my numbers have gone done. So I broke it down into three stages. The first 30 days would be getting into a routine with working out and begin the change to my diet. The middle 30 days I would increase my working out from a half hour to a full hour of cardio and continue to work on my diet and start to include veggies. And then the final 30 days will be the same hour long cardio work out and hopefully have a new outlook when it comes to eating.
So as I mentioned I've hit the 30 day mark today and I'm happy to say that I have completed my goal of doing 30 to 45 minutes of cardio every single day (for 30 days). I walk/jog every morning around the NoHo park. I've integrated it into my morning routine, I get up and the first thing I do is put on my sweats and head out the door.
The food aspect of my first 30 days has been tougher. I've have done fairly well with my "GI" sugar intake but I haven't done that well with my fat and calorie intake. I have lost 6 pounds in this first 30 days which I know is okay but I'm disappointed as I was hoping to lose at least 10. In this first 30 days I've cut back my diet soda intake to only a few cans a week (I was doing 3 cans a day). I also have cut out potatoes (I've only had french fries 3 times in the past 30 days). Also my pasta and bread are now whole wheat. I've given up rice, and if I do eat it (twice this month) it's been brown.
So I've had my ups and downs the past 30 days... but let's hope I continue to improve my diet in the next 30.

Screener, States I've Visited and a New Roller Coaster
This screener season has gotten off to a very slow start, so far I've only gotten 2 screeners but today I got my third "Get On Up". At first I had no idea what this movie was but after checking it out online I realized I do remember hearing about this. It's the James Brown biopic. I can't saw it's high on my list to watch but you never know I may give it a go.
So after the bad news we got about marriage equality in the 6th circuit today was the opposite. A Montana judge has ruled in favor of the freedom to marry for same-sex. So now all Montanans will soon be able to enjoy the pleasure of marrying the one they love.
Saw this on Facebook, it's a map that you can mark all the states you have been to. As you can see from the map that I've pretty much covered the Pacific Northwest and the New England States. AZ, CA, CT, DC, DE, FL, HI, ID, MA, MD, MT, NJ, NV, NY, OR, RI, UT, VA, WA, WY. My buddy Matt mentioned in my comments section "So basically you hate the Midwest?" and I replied with "Well I am a gay man.. So the Midwest kind of doesn't like me". I don't think I've purposely have avoided these states, it's just the other states were more of a priority. I do hope to one day to visit every state.
And one last thing I want to share with you guys is this amazing video of an upcoming roller coaster being built in Florida.. it's said to be the tallest. It looks amazing and I'd ride if for sure if I ever make my way over to FL again.

Christmas Music
I love Christmas and Christmas music and I always anticipate when KOST (a local radio station) starts playing Christmas music a few days after Thanksgiving. Well today I remembered that Pandora has a Christmas channel and I was a bit stressed here at work so I decided to plug in my headphones and listen to some Christmas music.
It was like an instant hug, I was smiling from ear to ear and all warm inside. It's crazy how music can do that to you. I was trying to be sneaky while listening as I didn't want anyone to bitch or complain that it's too early for Christmas music which I have heard many times already this year. But my whistling and humming along to the song kind of gave me away.
Oh well.. I don't care what people say or think. I love Christmas music and I can listen to it whenever and where ever I want.

Final Work Week, Homemade Chili & Warming the Heart
So I start my final week on this CNN Pilot, five weeks has kind of just flown by (ok 4 weeks as the fifth is just starting). I'm currently on the look out for another gig so if anyone hears of a post production supervisor position opening up please let me know.
Today for lunch I got to enjoy the chili I made overnight. I've been wanting to use my crock pot more and while talking to Erik last week he mentioned making home made chili so I asked for his recipe. I picked up all the ingredients a few days ago and was looking forward to making it. I prepared it last night and dumped it in the crock pot around 10:30pm and figured it would be ready by the time I got up and sure enough it was.
Before my walk in the morning I wanted to do a taste test and after four big spoonfuls I determined it was a success. I also did everything in my power to not have chili for breakfast. So I brought some to work and got to enjoy it at lunch. I have to say that I'm very happy with the final results. It's more on the mild side which Erik knows I'm a wimp with it comes to super spicy. I do think next time I will add more beans but overall it was a great recipe... Thanks Erik!!! It also makes a very large pot so I'll be eating chili on and off this entire week.. woohoo
I want to share a video with you.. these kinds of videos always brings me to tears but it does the heart good... enjoy.

Laundry, TV, Minecraft and Friends
Today I had to get several chores done, since my job I haven't been able to do any sort of laundry. Luckily for me I have quite a few pairs of socks, underwear, jeans and tees that I can go a month without washing anything but today I had to do laundry so I loaded up my car with my seven loads and headed over to my local laundry mat. Washing and drying seven loads look about three hours to finish.
When I got home I watched a bit of recorded TV as my TIVO is starting to get full. I watched the latest episode of Scorpion, I'm still loving these series. I'm so happy that it's doing well in the ratings.
Around 5pm my buddy Chris asked if I wanted to play some Minecraft. Now my buddy Chris and I use to talk everyday but the past five months or so we barely say hello online so when an opportunity comes up to "hang out" with him I can't say no. We played some Minecraft games and had so much fun. We played for about 2 hours before calling it a night.
During the evening I skyped with my buddy Erik and we watched the latest Flash episode together. Like Scorpion, The Flash is good and doing well in the ratings. I'm loving the special effects and we're getting a bit more info about the overall story. So far it's pretty much the "meta" human of the week story. It kind of reminds me of the early seasons of Smallville with it was Kryptonite infected human of the week, but it's still fun to watch.
So it wasn't the most relaxing Sunday.. but it was a productive one as well as I got to hang out online with several friends.. so that's always good.
