Comic Con Day Two

Today I had only a few hours to spend at Comic Con before I had to head back home to pick up Harry so we could go to the airport to pick up his family. I spent most of my time on the dealers floor taking pictures of people in costumes. I spent most of my time at the Star Trek/Paramount section. They had these cards that you had to scratch and you were given a job. You had to build a crew of eight. If you did you build a team you all got these really cool Star Trek bags and your name went into a drawing for a laptop computer. Even thought my comic con 2008 was short it was alot of fun and I look forward to next years.

Our First Wedding Present

Today while at Comic Con I was talking to Harry at home and he said we got our first wedding present. It was from his Sister Gerda and it was the fire pit that we really wanted. Whoo hooo.

Comic Con 2008 Day One

Today I got up super early and left the house at 7am so I could get to San Diego by 9:30, that's when the first day of the San Diego Comic Con started. Everything seemed okay but then I hit traffic and for the next five hours traffic crawled. What should have taken 2 1/2 hours took 6 1/2 hours. I had missed the two panels I really wanted to do that day (Doctor Who and Torchwood). Also since Harry's family is coming in tomorrow night this was going to be my only full day at the con.

I finally got there and decided that I was not going to do any panels and just walk around the dealers room which is alot of fun. The day started off horrible but ended on a high note.. it was alot of fun.

Vacation Time

Today is my last day of work for a few weeks. Since Harry's family is coming this Friday and our wedding is next Saturday I asked for a few weeks offs to enjoy this time. I am actually looking forward to the time off. Work has been really stressful and busy the past few months and I need a few weeks away from the craziness. I don't go back until August 11th.

Making Centerpieces

We finally got our final pieces for the centerpieces. We now could actually start building them. The first few were our test centerpieces and turned out pretty good but once we got it down the other six turned out great. We decided to go with a small round vase. We filled it with some sort of candle making wax stuff that was clear. We then put Star Trek micro machines in them along with my favorite flower, Sunflowers and one candle in the middle. We think they turned out quite nice.

Catering

Today I booked our Catering for the wedding. Harry and I decided on Boston Market for food as we enjoy going to lunch there once in a while. What was great is you can do everything online and it was fast and easy. This was so far the most I have spent on the wedding. We are trying to keep it upder $5000.00 and so far we are doing pretty good.

Still got a bunch of things to do.. but things are moving along nicely.

More Wedding Stuff

Today I found out that one of my friends is actually a Bartendar, or at least he has done it in the past. So I quickly emailed him and asked if he could do our wedding and he said for us, he would do it for free.. Thanks AJ... you ROCK!!!

The other thing I did today was place an order for all of our party rentals.. tables, chairs, champaign glasse and so much more. Now I wait to see how much this will all cost me.

Dinner with Friends

Tonight Harry and I went over to our friends John and Moises' apartment for dinner. It was alot of fun as Moises is an excellent cook and we always enjoy his dinners. Afterward we all sat down and watched Sky High. It was a cool night with friends.

More Wedding Stuff

Today we went to Ralphs and filled an entire shopping cart up with 2 liter bottles of various soda.. people thought we were crazy until we told them if was for a wedding. Spent over $70 bucks.

Shopping, Shopping and More Shopping

Today Harry and I went out and bought a ton of stuff for our wedding. We only have a few free weekends left. And since we are doing everything ourselves there is so much to do. Today we got plates, forks, spoons, knives, napkins, salt, pepper and containers and a bunch of beer. We looked for alochol but didn't buy any. So much to do still.

Wedding Cake

Finding a wedding cake has been alot harder then I thought it would be. I had someone lined up who could make what I was asking but he couldn't do it on the day we needed it. I knew of one other cake maker that could do it but she lives up on San Francisco but my best man Christopher was visiting family up there and this person was one of his good friends so I asked him to ask her if it was possible for her to make it and just ship it down here of something. I didn't think anything would come of it but tonight while I was at my 2nd job I got a call from a friend’s friend. Her name is Tina and I met her a few years ago while she was done here.. one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Well she said that she heard I was getting married and needed a cake. I could not believe what I was hearing. She heard what I wanted and was so excited and wanted to make it so we started to make plans. What is great is that she and her husband (who's taking days off work) are coming down here for the weekend to make us our wedding cake. I was in shock when she told me this.. this was been a huge stress in my life and it was as if someone took a huge weight off my chest.

We talked about the details (keep it a secret for guests) on what Harry and I wanted and worked out the details and costs.

This cake is going to rock and be everything that Harry and I want it to be. Thank you Christopher for helping me get Tina to make our dream wedding cake.

Kenny's Appreciation Day

Today when I got back from work I noticed that there was birthday wrapping paper covering my office door. When I opened my door my office decorated with various goodies and there was a Happy Birthday banner strung on the wall but the "birth" part was blocked by a sign that said Kenny's Appreciation.. so the sign read Happy Kenny's Appreciation Day. There was also a present on my seat, it was a Internet urinal, it's a bottle that you can pee in and it has an adaptor for women... it's way too funny.

Come to find out that several of my co-workers who know I've been a bit stressed out with this job decided to make this Kenny's Appreciation Day. I was very touched and it just shows you how great some of my co-workers are. So for the rest of the day it was Kenny's Appreciation Day :)

Harry the Assisant Editor

Today after a long day at work I had to go to my other job and try and clean up a huge mess. When we got there they needed alot of help and was looking for an AE at the last minute. I volunteered Harry who happens to be with me. Harry knows the avid and would make a great AE. So we spent the next eight hours working on cleaning up this mess of a show. It was fun working with Harry and it was cool that this was Harry's first official job as an AE. I was exhausted after a 20-hour workday but it was cool that Harry got to work as an AE.

Hancock

Today Harry and I went down to visit my Dad, we took him out to lunch and to a movie. We saw the new Will Smith movie Hancock. We all enjoyed it, it's not your typical superhero movie. The people of LA hated this superhero because he would cause major property damage while saving people. He saves a guy named Ray who is a PR person and wants to clean up Hancock’s image. He also met Ray's wife and you know something is up. Come to find out that Hancock and Ray’s wife Mary our soul mates and have been alive for over 3000 years. Even though they are drawn to each other when the do get together they start to become mortal and can age and die. These two are the last of their kind.

I really liked the story idea... there was no huge battle at the end of this film. It's a very unusual love story with alot of funny moments and some awesome action scenes. I do wish they went into more detail about them being "immortal". But you can't have everything. All in all this was a very cool and unique superhero movie.

Doctor Who Season Four Finale

Okay just finished the finale of Doctor Who Season Four. I have to say it was a Fanboys dream episode. From beginning to end I was smiling from ear to ear. The Doctor and his Children of Time vs Davros and the Delaks. This episode was the perfect ending to the RTD era of Who.

I loved the set up for Martha and Mickey to join Torchwood next season (if the rumors are true).

Rose and the Doctor (well clone doctor) live happily ever after (at least for now)

Seeing K-9 special appearance was awesome.

And I have to say that Catherine Tate (Donna) was MAGNIFIGENT!!! I didn't really like her in the Christmas special but when they brought her onto the series she changed and turned into one of my favorite companions of all. Her acting is brilliant and she got to shine in many of season four episodes. And what happened to her in this episode was heart wrenching. She's the woman that saved the universe and when the Doctor took her back to live with her family and removed the memories I thought..okay at least she's not dead. But then I remembered her life on Earth and her unsporting mother who makes her believe she is nothing and worthless and it makes me sad. Donna is so much more and it might have been better if she had died the woman she was rather then go back to the woman she use to be. I just hope all the crazy experience that Donna's mom had will change her mind about her daughter and she'll give her encouragement and respect as she deserves.

Anyways.. a wonderful ending to a wonderful season.. this is a must buy when it comes out on DVD.

22 Hour Work Day

When I got to work at 9am on Wednesday I had no clue that I wasn't going to get off till the following morning Thursday at 7am. We were outputting our first episode to NBC and it had to be perfect. So I stayed and outputted it myself and it took a lot longer then expect.

I haven't put in a 22 hour work day in a long while but it's nice to know that even though I'm getting older I managed the long day pretty well.

One Month to Go

Today is our one month mark.. one month from today Harry and I along with our friends and family will be celebrating our union. We still have a lot to do and I'm starting to stress out a bit but whatever happens will happen. Harry and I will enjoy the day regardless on how well things turn out.

Wall-E

Today Harry, Bruce and I went to a PGA screening of Wall-E. Wall-E is the latest from Pixar/Disney. When I first saw previews I knew I would like this movie, the robot reminded me of Number 5 from Short Circuit and I was a huge fan of that movie when it came out.

I loved all Pixar movies from Toy Story up to there last one Ratatouille so I knew this one would be no different. And I was right.. WOW.. what a fanatastic movie. I cried within the first twenty minutes and through out the film. It's amazing that you can fall in love with this little robot that barely says three words but just from his reactions you can't help but love him. What was great about this film was that kids will love it as they will like the robots but adults will love it for the underlying story. Yes this movie is about a robot love story but there is so much more.

I can't wait to see this movie again. I went out to Toys R Us to see if they had some toys. We did find a few but not what I was looking for... gotta keep looking as I need my little Wall-E action figure.

Wanted

Today I got off of work a little early so Harry and I would make it to a screening of Wanted the new Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy movie. It's based on a comic book by the same name. This was a very cool movie, very bloody and violent and full of language but the action and sfx scenes were mind blowing. There is also a very cool twist in the story which I didn’t see coming. Both Harry and I enjoyed the wild and crazy ride.

Here's a short synopsis: Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is a neurotic accounts manager who works in a small cubical filling out billing reports day end and day out. He allows his boss and his girlfriend to walk all over him. To cope with his life, he takes anti-anxiety pills by the bottle full. Wesley has no desire to change his humdrum life, but one day while getting more pills at the drug store, he meets a beautiful woman in black, Fox (Angelina Jolie) who changes his life forever. Fox was sent to protect Wesley from the man who had just killed his father. Wesley thought his father had died soon after he was born. Fox tells Wesley, "that his father died yesterday on the rooftop of the Metropolitan Building, and you are next." Wesley is recruited into the "Fraternity," a secret society of assassins that his father was a member. Fox must train Wesley to bring out his special powers that he was born with in order to avenge his fathers death. "The Fraternity's" leader- Sloan, (Morgan Freeman) also teaches Wesley the ways of the group, and Wesley soon becomes an assassin just like his father. But nother everything is as it seems.

Wedding Plans

Time seems to be flying by.. It’s only a little over five weeks away and we still have a ton of things to do. We are trying same money by doing things ourselves but it's alot of work and with so little free time it's making things really tough. Every weekend from here on out will be doing something that pertains to the wedding. But in the end it will all be worth it.

Get Smart

Today Harry and I along with a few friends went to a screening of Get Smart. I loved the TV series back when it was on so I was looking forward to this movie. The movie was very enjoyable. It was not only funny as I expected it to be but it had some really good action scenes. It was a very cool remake of a classic TV series. Everyone really enjoyed it and afterwards we went to Mel's Diner for lunch.. it was a fun outing with some great company.

Blackout!!!!

Well today while at work Harry called to inform me that the electricity went out at the house.. that it had been out for an hour. I called DWP and found out that the power was out in 20 + cities in the valley. I was work until around 9pm and when I got home I figure everything would be back up.. but it wasn't. It's 9pm and 90+ degrees outside. We couldn't open the refrigerator as I didn't want to let any of the cool air out. Luckily Harry has a laptop computer with a DVD player built in and there was some battery life left in it to we sat in the backyard and watched MASH.

It was close to midnight and I was sooo tired that I tempted to go into our super hot bedroom to sleep. It was horrible but I did my best to sleep but moments later the power came back on. The power was out for 6 hours, which is the longest that power has ever been out for me. You don't realize how much electricity means to you until it's gone. It made me appreciate what I have a little more.

Hot, Hot and more Hot

The past few days and for the foreseeable future it's going to be hot here in Reseda... not just hot but over 105 for the next week or so. I like the heat but now that we are living in the house with no central air it's getting hard to stay cool. We have air conditioner in three of the rooms but we can't keep them on 24 hours a day.. or I should say I don't want to keep them on for 24 hours a day $$$$. And the really sad part is Summer is just beginning.

Doctor's Visit

Today I had another Doctor’s visit. I was getting my cholesterol checked, as it was pretty high on the last visit. So they were going to take blood and check everything out. Also they were going to check my testosterone levels, as they have been usually low.

I was telling my doctor about being tired after waking up after an 8-hour sleep the past few months and he said I might have sleep apnea and will have to be tested. For those that don’t know what sleep apnea is, it’s when you stop breathing while sleeping and your body wakes up and makes you breath, he said this can be happening 1000’s of times a night. It’s kind of a scary thought and I plan on getting tested.

Everything else looked good.. Dr. Mills was very happy with my blood pressure, as it was much lower then last time… 140/82

Now I just need to lose some weight and lower my cholesterol and all will be well.

Gay Weddings

Today is a great day in California history. Same sex weddings are now legal. California is only the second state in the US to legalize same sex marriages. Of course there are those who are fighting it and there will more then likely be a proposition on the November ballot banning same sex marriages again.

Many have called me and asked now that same sex marriages are legal in CA I can sponsor Harry for immigration. But immigration is ran by the Federal government and they still have marriage as a union between a man and a woman so the CA ruling really won't change that status.

As for Harry and I changing our Commitment Ceremony into a wedding, with Harry's immigration status we are looking into it... I'll keep you posted.

Happy Father's Day

Today Harry and I took my Dad out to lunch and shopping for Father's Day. It was a nice visit.. Happy Father's Day Pops...

Hulk 2

Today, Harry, Tom, Erwin, John, Moises and I went to see a PGA Screening of The Incredible Hulk (Hulk 2) at the Harmony Gold Theater. This was the first time we had gone to this theater and it was very nice. Unlike the writers Guild Theater then one had comfortable seats and an awesome audio. They also have parking underneath.. which is always a plus.

As for the Hulk, it was alot of fun, a 1000 times better then the first one. The story was good and the SFX were very impressive. Some of my favorite scenes were at the end when The Hulk slapped his hands together so cause a gust of wind to blow out a fire that was about to kill his girlfriend. The other part is where The Hulk say's "Hulk Smash" and smashes the ground causing the ground to crack. Another cool part was seeing Robert Downey Jr's, Stark (Ironman) character shows up at the end. This movie had the same feel as Ironman. You can tell they were setting up stuff for a future Avengers Movies.

This is defiantly a DVD purchase when it comes out...

Summer Finale of Battlestar Galactica

I came late to this series as I didn't have the Sci Fi channel but I finally got season 1 & 2 on DVD and watched them none stop before the third season started last year. It is one of the best sci fi TV series around. It's so different from the original series, it's dark and depressing but it's amazing watching the human spirit survive.

Well today was the summer finale and it didn't disappoint. WOW.. pretty much sums it up. This is the fourth and final season and we only have 10 more episodes left. They are not coming back until next year but they gave us fans alot to talk about during the hiatus.

If you have not watched this series you are missing one of the best TV shows ever.

Star Trek Cuff Links

Today when I got home there was a package from my friend Chris. When I opened it I was totally surprised. He knows that Harry and I are huge Star Trek fans and want to have Star Trek elements with in our ceremony. So when I opened the package out came two sets of Star Trek Cuff Links. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!

I called to thank him and he told me that he made these as he couldn't find premade ones.. how awesome is that. They are going to look great on our tuxes and will always be a very special part of our ceremony. Thank you Chris.

After MASH

I was never a huge MASH fan but after meeting Harry who is a big fan I have seen almost every episode and love the series. I knew there was a spin off series after Mash ended called After MASH. It's not on DVD and it took me forever to find copies. Well about two weeks ago I found a guy who was selling bootleg DVD's of the broadcast versions online and had to get them. Well today we got them finally and we had to watch at least a few episodes before going to bed.

It's very different from MASH but several of the characters moved over to the new series so it was nice to see Sherman Potter, Max Klinger and Father Mulcahy. We only watched a few episodes but so far they are alot of fun.

Kung Fu Panda

Today Harry, Tom, Bruce and I went to see a special PGA Screening of Kung Fu Panda. What was different about this screening is it was held at an actual movie theater (Bruin Mann's) in Westwood. When we got there they told us that we were going to get free popcorn and free soda, which is very unusual for screenings also they gave everyone a very cool interactive Kung Fu Panda CD.

I'm not a huge Jack Black fan but I was really looking forward to seeing this. From beginning to end it was a very funny movie. The animation was cool and the story was very sweet. Everyone who saw it really enjoyed it. I'll be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

Dinner Out

Since work was so crazy last night and I wasn't able to get out until very late we had to celebrate our 5-year anniversary tonight. We went to one of Harry's favorite restaurant Outback Steakhouse. I have to work hard to get out of work in time but since I missed last night there was no way I was not going to get out at a decent hour. So we finally got to enjoy a nice dinner out and celebrate our 5 years.

Work is Hell

I have been sooooo busy the past few months but this week has been extremly busy. I've been going in at 8am and getting home around 10pm. I would have dinner with Harry and watch TV for an 1/2 hour then go to bed and start it all over again. I'm getting too old for this...

5 Years Anniversary 1st Meeting

Today, five years ago I was waiting nervously at LAX International airport to meet this guy from Austria that I had been talking to online for three months. We knew we had a connection online and via video but would the chemistry be there in person... well it's been five years now and we are very happy... so you can say yes.

Washing Clothes

Well after two months of trying we finally had some free time to do our laundry. Luckily Harry and I have enough socks and underwear to cover the delay. I think we finally ran out of clean towels and that prompted me to find the time to get to the laundry mat. This is just another reminder that we need to buy our very own washer and dryer.

Visiting Dad

Today Harry and I visited Dad.. this is the first time we saw him after his hospital stay from his heart attack. He looks good and is following all the rules. We took him to lunch and a movie.. we say Indy 4 again but it was the first time for him. He really enjoyed it as did Harry and I again.

Gas Prices

Today I paid over four dollars for a gallon of gas. This is the most I have ever paid for regular gas. $4.09 per gallon... I can't believe only a few years ago gas was going for 2 bucks.. now it's double and still going up. Times like these makes me wish I didn't have my gas gozzling Jeep Wrangler. Oh well.. just have to cut back on driving long distances. Luckily I don't work too far from our house. When visiting my Dad it costs my almost $50 dollars to fill the tank and I use more then 2/3's of it to drive there and back. Might have to cut back my visits to once a month instead of twice.

Indiana Jones 4

I have been dying to see this since it came out last week.. well finally Harry and I went to see this movie after work today and it didn't disappoint. After the movie was over I was on a high. It was everything I expected and more. It grabs you right at the beginning and never lets you go until the very last frame of film. It was one big wild adventure ride and I loved it. Ford was fantastic.. a bit older but still very much Indy. It was great to see Karen Black back as Marion and the addition of Shia as Marion's son was perfect. This was a funny, sweet, action packed, sci fi'ish, adventure film all rolled into one. I can't wait to see this film again. Here's a brief synopsis.

The newest Indiana Jones adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 – the height of the Cold War. Indy and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield.

Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College – only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy's recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he'll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history – the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.

But as Indy and Mutt set out for the most remote corners of Peru – a land of ancient tombs, forgotten explorers and a rumored city of gold – they quickly realize they are not alone in their search. The Soviet agents are also hot on the trail of the Crystal Skull. Chief among them is icy cold, devastatingly beautiful Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett), whose elite military unit is scouring the globe for the eerie Crystal Skull, which they believe can help the Soviets dominate the world... if they can unlock its secrets.

Indy and Mutt must find a way to evade the ruthless Soviets, follow an impenetrable trail of mystery, grapple with enemies and friends of questionable motives, and, above all, stop the powerful Crystal Skull from falling into the deadliest of hands.

Happy Memorial Day

Just want to wish everyone a very Happy Memorial Day. I want to thank all those soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I may not believe what the military is doing alot of the times but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the men and woman who serve and die for us.

Big Screen TV

Today when I got home from a really bad day at work I was greeting with the news that our fairly new (well to us) Big screen TV was out. Sure enough I turned it on and saw a bunch of crazy lines running through the screen. We got this from my Mom for my birthday last September from a friend of hers. I don't know how old the TV is but it has to be a four of five years old. So now I have to see if I can find a TV repair person and see if it's worth fixing it or just biting the bullett and buying a new big screen HDTV.

Prince Caspian

Today Harry and I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia - Prince Caspian. It's the second movie/book in the Narnia series. I have read all seven books and really enjoyed the series. Both Harry and I really enjoyed the first movie The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe so we were excited to see this one.

Here’s a short synopsis...

It’s one year after the event of ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and the former kings and queens of Narnia - Peter (William Moseley), Susan (Anna Popplewell), Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy Pevensie (Georgie Henley) - find themselves back in that faraway realm only to discover that more than 1,300 years have passed in Narnian time. During their absence, the land’s Golden Age has faded into legend. It’s magical talking animals and mythical creatures exist as little more than folk tales to the Telemarines, a race of humans led by the merciless Lord Miraz (Sergio Castellitto). The mighty Aslan (Liam Neeson) has not been seen in a thousand years. The four children have been summoned back to Narnia by Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes), the young heir to the Telemarine thorne, to combat his evil uncle Miraz. With the help of a crusty, valiant dwarf, Trumpkin (Peter Dinklage); a courageous talking mouse, Reepicheep (Eddie Izzard); and a mistrustful black dwarf, Nikabrik (Warwick Davis); they lead the Narnians on a journey to restore magic and glory to the land.

Though this wasn't as good as the first movie it was still very enjoyable. Not a very complex story but neither is the book so I didn't expect it to be. The action was great, the acting good, and the sfx were very cool. It was a nice continuation of the series. Next up The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Daisy's Anniversary

Today marks the 3rd anniversary that Daisy joined our family... and we’ve made that her birthday as well, she’s now either 9 or 10 years old... we can’t be entirely sure about that... and she’s come a long way considering her behavior when we got her. You can tell she is getting older as the underside of her muzzle is getting completely white, she now looks like she has a little gray beard. Never thought I could love an animal as much as I love her. She is a pain in the butt and keeps us from vacations and traveling but she also brightens our days with her unconditional love. I couldn't imagine life without her.

More Bluetooth Issues

Today about mid day my brand new cell phone battery died. I couldn't figure out why that would happen as it was fully charaged when I left the house today. I told Harry and he did some research and found out that leaving on your bluetooth can drain your battery as your bluetooth is always active and looking for a connection. So I guess you keep your bluetooth off unless you plan on using it. Which kind of sucks because the only time I plan on using my bluetooth is in the car while driving. So now I have to remember to turn it on when I get in the car and turn it off when I get out of the car. Still the bluetooth is a really cool device.

I also went back to Best Buy on my lunch to exchange Harry's bad bluetooth device. When I got home we charged the new device up and connected it to Harry's phone.. everything turned out great. So now we both have a fully working bluetooth device.

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Bluetooth Headset

Today Harry and I went to Best Buy to get a couple of bluetooth head sets for our new cell phones... not only because it’s a cool device but also because you will be required by law to use head sets while driving beginning July 1st... There were so many to choose from and the price range was from $19.99 to $149.99. We figured we would get something in the middle range. We both chose to Rocketfish RF-SH230 bluetooth headset with exchangeable color plates...

When we got home, we charged my head set first... then we activated the bluetooth device on my phone and the phone saw the headset right away. We did a few test calls to see if we liked the bluetooth device, it sounded great so we we tried the same thing with Harry's headset... but the phone never saw the headset... and the headset had some power issues.. I plan on exchanging for a new one in a few days.

Side Job

This week my old copany (The Idea Factory) asked me to come back part time and help out with a pilot that they are trying to finish. The Post Super that they hired after I left was more a Post Producer and didn't really know much about the techie part of post. I agreed to help out as it's always good to make a little extra money. So for the next four weeks I'll be working two jobs and trying not to get even more stressed out then I have already been.

Finding Dad

Just got a call from my Uncle Wally asking me where my Dad is. I said.. where is my Dad.. he's at Corona Medical Center. Wally says he called there and was told that he was transfered to another hospital.. I was like WHAT... I knew he was going to another hospital for a procedure but wasn't told he was going to stay there. All I knew is that the hospital was in Anaheim. I called Corona Medical and asked where my Dad was and the first lady had not clue what I was talking about.. luckily I found another woman who told me he was transfered to Western Medical. So then I called Western Medical and after navigating there phone system I got the operator and asked about my Dad. She found him and told me to room and bed number and said she would transfer me. The phone rang and rang and rang.. I finally hung up figuring he was sleeping and called back so I could talk to the nurse to make sure everything was fine. Again navigaing the phone system and getting to the operator again, this time she transferred me to the nurse station and after talking to several different people got a hold of my Dad's nurse who said he was great and is awake and not sure why he didn't answer his phone.. she transfered me again and the phone rang and rang and finally my Dad picked up. I guess the phone was unplugged from the wall. Anyways after a half hour of phone play I was able to find my Dad and talk with him.. everything went well. It looks like he'll be heading home tomorrow.

Returning our Rent a Car

Today we finally returned the Rent a car.. two days longer then was planned but that couldn't be helped. It was strange driving the Jeep again after driving the Calibar. Calibar is low to the ground and has some major power. The Jeep is a much harder ride and the pick up power isn't the best.. still love my jeep but it was nice having a car again. I think once my Jeep is dead or I pass it off to Harry I'll get me a car again.

Visiting Dad

Today Harry and I went to the hospital to visit my Dad. He looked really good. He had IV's in both arms and a ton of machines hooked up to him but he was in good spirits. Of course he's tired of the hospital and wants to walk around but he's good. He get's taking tomorrow for a angio plastic (sp?) in another hospital in Aneheim. Then a few days later we find out if he will need a bypass or not. Here's hoping for the best.
