Website and Interviews

Today started off not so good.. woke up with sore throat and not feeling so hot.. but I had stuff to do today so I got to work. I finished working on my comic con 2010 webpages, I built the pages last night and though I had built 47 pages, when I build webpages I can put 3 to 4 pages onto one webpage so it wound up being 12 webpages for my Comic Con 2010 section of my personal website. You can see it HERE

So that's one step closer to finishing my website. Still have to do my Vacation section and my Guild section, both have several sub sections of there own. I think that's why I keep putting them off. But now I have no choose.. gotta get those done. Once those are done my website will be complete.. of course it will always be a work in progress as I update and add more sections but I'll be a happy camper when I get all this done.. I have been trying to finish this website for the past two year.

At about 1pm I headed out to Guild producer Kim Evey's house. I wanted to interview her for some upcoming KOTG CompanionCasts. While I was trying out there I got a text asking if we could meet a little later at 2:30. I had no problem with that as I was going to go to the post office afterwards but instead I would go before (luckily I did). I had to drop off a bunch of Knights of the Guild prizes and pictures for folks how have won our contests or made donations.

I got to Kim's around 2:40 and as I was walking up to her house I thought I should not only interview her for the CompanionCast but also for a 'crew' interview for our regular podcasts. And for that matter I can interview her husband Greg Benson for a 'crew' interview also as he directed the last half of season 1 along with various other Guildie things.

Kim and I went back into our office and we watched episodes 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 and then we discussed some very cool and interesting info about each episode. After that we did her crew interview, which I found very interesting. Then Greg came out and we did a quick 10 minute interview with him.

Spent about 4 hours there, (hence why I was happy I went to the post office earlier as they are closed now) thought it would be an hour or two but that's how it normally goes. On my way home I stopped by the grocery store to pick up something to make for dinner. Was very proud of myself as I fought the urge to just pick up some fast food as that is the norm.

The rest of the night was pretty uneventful, I tried to motivate myself to get started on CompanionCast S4E5 as it's due on Wednesday but I just couldn't do it.. so I just surfed the net and hung out with Harry.

More Webpages

I spent the majority of today building 47 pages for the Comic Con 2010 section of my personal website. It's not hard work just time consuming as there are 800+ pictures I have to sift through to find the ones I want to put on my site. Was too tired to upload everything tonight.. as that's another time consuming process.. but I'll try and do that tomorrow.

Perseid Meteor Shower

I've heard about this meteor shower in the past but living in the city there is so much light pollution to see anything. But now that we are in my middle of no where with very little light pollution I decided to check this event out. It was a nice clear night.. so clear that you could see the Milky way. I went out about 11pm and saw about five shooting stars within a half hour. One was the best shooting start I had ever seen. It lasted at least six seconds and went from east to west across the sky. I really thought this one was going to hit the Earth.. must have been really big but it lite up the sky as it burnt out. Went back out about midnight and saw a few more and then again at 1am (they say from 1 to 5 is the best time to watch). I saw about seven shooting stars within 15 minutes. I was too tired to continue and I had seen about 20 meteors. So for my first meteor shower that's not too bad.. next year I should have a Perseid Meteor Shower party.

Update to Website

I spent the entire day building 21 pages for the "our house" section of my website. I got through the process of looking for a house, to finding one, to financing one and finally to remodeling the home. Check out http://geekyfanboy.com/house_page_1.htm and see what the house looked like before and after.

My Home Gym

Went to Sport Chalet and finally picked up a Home Gym. We had gone last week to look and found this one but I wasn't willing to spend over $1000 for it. But as I got to thinking you can't put a price on health and also spending that much will really motivate me to actually use it. So today I went and picked up a Weider Black Smith Machine along with 300 lbs of weights.

Now I just have to build it.. wish me luck!!!

More Work on my Website

Today I spent most of the day organizing photos for several new pages for my website. I still have to create and build sections for my Vacations, The Guild, House & Remodel, San Diego Comic Con 2010 and our latest Road Trip. There are 1000's of Guild photos that I need to sift through as well has hundreds of Home remodel pictures. SDCC 2010 has over 800 pictures but those seem to be very easy to build. Hopefully I'll get some of these pages complete in the near future.. would love to get everything up to date and only have to update and re-vamp here and there every once in a while.

KOTG CompanionCast S4E4

Show Notes:

It’s time for our next CompanionCast for Season 4 of The Guild. First of all be sure you watched Episode 4 of season 4. If you haven’t seen it yet watch it HERE

What is a CompanionCast?? It’s a behind the scene look at the current episode of The Guild.

I was on set everyday while they shot Season 4. As actors and crew were finished with scenes I would try and speak to them. Get some inside info about the scene they just shot. I also interviewed Felicia Day and Kim Evey about the storyline and Sean Becker about the directing. Each one of these CompanionCasts will be episode specific and will vary in length depending on how much guildie goodness I was about to gather.

In this CompanionCast I talk about “call sheets”, interview Felicia Day, Sean Becker, and Kim Evey. I also have a crew interview with Scott Meisner.

I hope you enjoy a look behind the scenes of Season 4 Episode 4 “Moving On”

Geekyfanboy.com

Besides working on more Knights of the Guild podcasts I needed a break so I decided to get back to my personal website. http://Geekyfanboy.com I have been working on this website for as long as I can remember. I started it years ago on Geocities and when they folded a few years ago I decided to by my own domain and re-build it from scratch. Well it's a lot of work and takes up a lot of time which I don't have. So I do some here and there and for the most part have it looking pretty good. There are still a few links that are incomplete as I'm in the process of building the pages. Vacations is still not up, as I'm hoping to expand it from my previous vacation page and also add our new 2010 Pacific Northwest road trip to it. Been on the Guild for over 2 years and still haven't had time to go through the 1000's of photos and build some pages for it. Been in the house now for almost a year and that page is still in the works. and recently did San Diego Comic Con 2010 and have to add that to my convention page.

And I'm sure by the time I'm done with all the fixes and add on's I'll want to update some more pages so it's a never ending process. But since I'm out of work for the time being I figure I can get as much done as I can along with podcasting, yardwork, working on my health and searching for a job. Guess it's better to be busy then bored.. and man am I not bored!!!

So check out my website and get to know me a little better. http://Geekyfanboy.com

Happy Birthday Dad

Want to wish my Pop's a very Happy Birthday

Love you!!!!

Doctors Visit

This morning I got up at 6:30am for an 9:30am appointment with my doctor. You might ask why I got up so early, well my doctor, who I have gone to for years is in West Hollywood/Hollywood area. And it takes at least 2 hours to get there in the AM traffic. You might ask why appointment was so early and the answer was I was doing some blood tests that needed me to fast and I'm always hungry so I like to get it done sooner then later.

Anyways got there in time and actually was seen first by a PA, someone in training. He did the usual physical exam and took down some of my history. Found out that my blood pressure is a bit high 144 / 88, and my triglycerides are higher then they should be.. but my cholesterol is 177 now, it use to be 217 so that's good and all my other numbers were right at the limits. Of course I gained 3 more pounds since my last visit in December... currently at 207 (heaviest I have ever been).

My actual doctor came in the last ten minutes and we chatted about the numbers. Told him that I was going to start working out again, and I'm trying to cut down on my fast food intake and when I see him again in six months I will have lost some weight and better those "right at the limit" numbers.

He also told me to contact him in a month and let him know how it's going (with the weight lose). He said he can prescribe me some medicine that would help with my appetite (suppressing it) or reduce the amount of fat my body would take in from food.. but he wants to see what I can do on my own first.

So over all it was a good visit, nothing was unexpected and now if I wasn't challenged enough I now have to prove to my doctor that I can lose the weight on my own.

Editing Episode 19 pt.1

Today I went through part 1 of Episode 19 of Knights of the Guild podcast and started editing it down. This is the original recording that Jenni and I do. It normally takes me a few hours to cut out all the mistakes and dead air, specially when we read or I should say when I ready listener feedback as I'm not the greatest reader and it takes several takes to get it done right and then of course I have to do more editing. But I did manage to finish editing that piece of audio. Now I just have to assemble the entire podcasts by stringing all the bits together to make a cohesive podcast... I'll save that fun for tomorrow.
