Disneyland... Again!!

I have lost count on how many times I have gone to Disneyland since I got my season pass in October. I think I'm getting close to double digits. My friend Jes had a two day pass and used one day a few months back and needed to use her other day before June. So we planned for a day at Disneyland. Of course when we made this plan I had to put it out there to see if any of our friends wanted to join us. Many of my friends are pass holders as well. And as expected several of them wanted to join us. If you read my previous blog post you already know that Robert and Rupert joined us, as well as Jen, Aaron, Anthony and Jennifer.

We got there around 10am and joined up with Jen first. Then shortly after meet up with Aaron. The place was PACKED!! I pretty much expect this as it was a Saturday and gorgeous outside. We grabbed a fast pass for Star Tour (it's always the first thing we do), then headed over to Indiana Jones and got in line. While in line we met up with Anthony and Jennifer who were just getting off the ride. They waited for us as we rode the ride. Next we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain to get a fast pass before walking back to Pirates of the Caribbean, this was Jes' first time on this ride. After Pirates we did a bathroom break and wanted to grab a pretzel. I wasn't feeling so hot, I think the heat was getting so me. We rested for a bit before heading over to Big Thunder Mountain to use our fast pass. After Big Thunder we headed over to the Haunted Mansion. When we were in line for this we over heard this young (teenage) girl ask a friend if this ride was based on the movie.. Robert and I just looked at each other and rolled our eyes.

Anthony and Jennifer headed over to guest service while the rest of us went over to Space Mountain to get a fast pass. Well Space Mountain was shut down so we couldn't get a pass and decided to head over to Disney's California Adventures to get a fast pass for Tower of Terror. We met back up with Anthony and Jennifer on our way over. After getting out fast pass we went to watch the stage play Aladdin (one of my favorite things to do at DCA).

Robert had to leave us, but before he did, we went back to Disneyland to use our fast pass for Star Tours. Jes was chosen as the Rebel Spy which was AWESOME and we had a great combination of stories for the ride.

We headed out of the park to Downtown Disney for some dinner but first stopped by the tram station to say goodbye to Robert. It was sad to see him go but we had a great time while he was with us.

We then went to every restaurant at Downtown Disney and everyone had an hour to two hour wait. When we got to the end of Downtown and the final restaurant ESPN Zone we were surprised that their wait time was only 15 minutes. We had a great dinner while watching some sports.

After dinner we had to say good night to Jen who was not feeling so hot. That left six..  Jes, Rupert, Aaron Anthony, Jennifer and myself. We headed over to Tower of Terror and rode that, we all did our best Vogue pose.. it turned out pretty funny.

We were exhausted and it was about 9:30 but I wanted to go visit my buddy Gabe who just started working at Disneyland, unfortunately we couldn't find him at the Finding Nemo ride. We then headed over to Space Mountain and the wait for that ride was crazy long and as I had said we were tired so we called it a night.

Said goodbye to Anthony and Jennifer and drove Rupert and Jes back to my place as they were both staying the night. Got home around 11:30 and quickly went to bed.

Another fun adventure at the Happiest Place on Earth :)

Hanging with Friends

I love days like these.. Planning to go to Disneyland tomorrow but my friends are so awesome that they came a day early to hang out and spend the night. So first to arrived my by bestie Robert. We went out to Islands for some munchies (Islands). I always enjoy our one on one time, because we can have some very cool conversations. And this lunch was no different.

When we got back to my place Rupert was already at my place making himself some yummies. We played a few games of Clue (I won both :) ) then decided to watch some movies. First up was Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. The both of the guys had already seen it but I haven't and it's part of the package of DVD's that my bestie Josh loaned to me to watch.

After Wallace and Gromit, which was a very enjoyable movie we moved to Star Trek (re-launch). I've only seen this movie a few times, though I'm a HUGE Star Trek lover..it's not my Star Trek. But I still love ti and it was awesome watching with my buddies.

Rupert made us some yummy dinner (Corn beef and Hash) and we hung out for an hour or so before Jes arrived to complete our quartet. We chatted with Jes for a half hour or so before calling it a night around midnight.. gotta get up early for Disneyland tomorrow.. wooo hooo

Dinner with my Bestie

Tonight my Bestie Chris and I had dinner. Though he lives in Montana now we planned to grill some steaks and drink some wine.

We first played a few hours of Minecraft before getting our grill on.  Unfortunately I couldn't get my grill to work so I moved to the George Foreman grill and Chris' steak was bad so he grilled some saugages instead. As we cooked we chatted on facebook. It was nice hanging out with him, though it was just online. I miss him so much and I'm not sure how I'll get through the next three years without him being around.

I've had an entire bottle of Reisling wine and feeling a bit drunk at the moment. I'm amazed that I can still blog. It was great spending four hours with my bestie.. even it it was just online.

To Beard or not to Beard

Well if you know me you know I have a slight beard.. I have kept a beard for many years now... one because I'm lazy and it take less time to shave, and two I think it works well with slimming my face and hiding my double chins. But as I said I have always had the shortest of beards... never more then a quarter of an inch long. But I've decided that I'm going to try and tough it out and grow it longer. Now I've tried this in the past but as soon as it starts to look all wild and crazy I have given in and cut it down... but as I said I'm going to tough it out and hopefully have a nice full beard by the time SDCC comes around when I dress up as a Hobbit and in doing so must shave off the beard completely. I'll keep you all updated with pictures of my progress. :)

Geek and Sundry

Since this you tube channel launched while I was traveling to Montana I haven't had a chance to sit down and watch some of the videos. Well today I watched all of Felicia Day's Flog videos and Wil Wheaton's Table Top.

Both were very entertaining and I can't wait to see more. I also watched previous seasons of The Guild as they added a bunch of new BTS footage to them.

Minecraft-oholic

I got up around 8am, took a shower and had a nice list of things to do today. But as I sat down at the computer to check my emails I saw the little icon for Minecraft. This is a block building kind of online game. My bestie Chris introduced it to me while I was visiting him in Montana. I had heard about it because it's really big in the "geek" world. I figured since I have crappy internet there would be no way for me to play online, so when I got home from Montana and gave it a try and OMG it worked. I can now play live with my bestie and it's pretty awesome. Now I haven't played much since I got back from Montana but I saw the icon and though I'd give it a go. Well five hours later I realized that I hadn't eaten or drank anything all day.

I pulled myself away and headed out to El Pollo Loco from some yummy chicken. When I got back I planned to get some stuff done on my "to do" list. I stared with yard work, since we had those big rain falls the past few weeks the weeds have been on the attack. I pruned a bush next to my front door and then took the weed wacker and started cutting down some weeds. Did that for about an hour before getting a text from Chris saying that I need to play Minecraft when he's on as well. I told him I'd love to play when he was on as well, he then texted... I'm on now.. so it sucked me back in and I played from 5pm to 8:30pm.

I'm not addicted.. really :)

Catching Up On TV

Ever since my trip to Montana I've been trying to catch up on DVR'd shows. I mean I was already behind on some of my regular shows and then the two weeks hiatus didn't help. So today I spent the entire day in my recliner watching recorded shows.

A few highlights were the latest episode of Eureka.. so happy it's back from it's long hiatus. This was episode two of it's final season. This one had a shocker of an ending that was not only a surprise but heartbreaking.

My friend Felicia Day joined the cast in Season Four and on this episode her quirky character Holly was "supposely" killed. As I said it was heart wrenching.. not only because it's Felicia Day but because Holly was such a great character among so many great characters. But something tells me this isn't the end of Holly.

I also watched four episodes of Lost Girl, again this series just continues to amaze me. So much fun and really reminds of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

It was nice catching up on my TV.. still got alot of watch but it's a start.

Hanging with Josh

I was really looking forward to today. One of my best buddies Josh was coming for a visit.. not just s visit but to spend most of the day hanging out. Well I got a text from him a little before 2 letting me know he's running a bit behind but was heading out soon. He lives about an hour and a half way from me so I was expecting him around 3:30pm.. well 3:30 came and went, then 4 and finally 5pm. I was worried because he ride a motorcycle and the weather was a bit iffy today. I finally got a call from a frantic Josh, who was lost on some dirt roads, cell phone about to die and he's almost out of gas. I felt so bad for him. I did my best to try and figure out where he was as he was close to my place. He was going to try and make his way back to a street sign or actual road. About five minutes later he called me and told me the cross streets. He was only a few miles away so I jumped in my jeep and headed his way. About five minutes later I find him where he said he would be and looking miserable and cold.... Again my heart broke..

He followed me back to my place and told me about the entire ordeal. This is the problem with google maps. It was taking him the back roads to my place but that's been blocked off for years now. Josh is not the best with directions and it just went down hill from there. But he's here now, safe and warm. First thing I did was make him a drink.. he defiantly needed one after his crazy adventure.

We hung out, chatted, watched some movies (The Craft and Moulin Rouge) and made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Around 1am I suggested that he just crash at my place as it was cold outside and he didn't have class until 11am so if he got up around 8am he could get home time to change and get to class.. he agreed this was a best plan. We stayed up for another hour or so chatting before calling it a night and going to bed.

I don't get to spend a lot of time with Josh, because of his school, work and theater. So the time we do get to spend together is priceless to me. This day didn't start out that great, but it ended on the highest of highs. Thanks buddy for being one of the most loving people I've ever had the pleasure of calling my best friend.

Top Secret Shoot

Okay well it's not that top secret but I can't tell you what it is. My buddy Sean Becker (director of The Guild among many other things) asked if he could film "something" with Felicia Day at my place. Of course I said yes so they planned to be at my place at 8am.

As I said I can't go into details but it started at 8am and they finished around 6pm. If you read my previous blog you know my friend Jen was an extra for it as well my my former Knights of the Guild co-host Jenni. It was loads of fun and I can't wait until I can share more information about it.

After the shoot I had some dinner and then watched Once Upon a Time live.. I rarely watch anything live but it's been several weeks without a new Once Upon a Time and I was jonesen for it. Of course they hit it out of the park. This series continues to amaze and entertain me. There's only three episodes left for season one. Can't wait for the season one DVD so I can have a weekend marathon of Once Upon a Time.
