Comic Con Day 1

Today is the first Day of San Diego Comic Con. Tom and I left at 9:30am hoping to get down to San Diego by Noon... traffic was horrible and we didn't get there until 2pm. When we got to the hotel, which we were paying a ton for. There parking was full. The reason I picked this place was because they had parking. So we had to run around and find a place to leave our car and hope a spot would open up in the hotel.

Since it took longer then we planned I missed the first panel I wanted to go to, Paramount PIctures. So I headed to the dealers room "the floor" and had some fun taking pictures and getting some free swag. The next panel I wanted to do was Lost so I got in line about an hour and a half earlier to make sure I got in. The Lost panel was fun, they keep very tight lipped on stuff but they do give us little tib bits of news like Michael is coming back to the island. Jack and Claire will find out that they are half brother and sister and that the shows will be made of flashbacks, flashforwards and present time all in one episode.

That is the only panel I did today.. it was so crowded for a Thursday. I also got to met an internet friend and his wife and we hung out. Not the way I wanted to start my Con experience but it wasn't a total waste of day. Next up... Day Two.

IT IS OVER :(

Yes I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I cried, I laughed, I was totally stunned. What an incredible ending to an unbelievable series. I'm not going to spoil anything here just in case you haven't finished the book. All I'm going to say now is that I was very satisfied with the ending. We got answers to almost every question that was asked through out the series. JK Rowling is a writing Queen!!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful world of Harry Potter.

Book 7 Continues and Wii

Today I got to Chapter 29, it's almost over.. it's hard to believe that in a few more chapters I will be done and the Harry Potter saga will be over. I try not to get sad about it and I know I have the seven book to enjoy over and over again but it's hard knowing that this is it.. after this there will be no more.

Later in the day Harry and I went over to our friend Bruce's place and we placed to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoinex Wii video game. It was so much fun yet so much work to get your wand movement just right to cast the spell. It was a fun night.

Reading Harry Potter Book 7

Well I went to bed around 2am but couldn't really sleep so I got up around 7am and started to read the final Harry Potter book. I was conflicted because I want to read it and find out what happens but then I don't want to read it to fast and finish it because this is the last. I managed to read two chapters the morning I got it and I read another nine chapters today. I figure if I read about 12 chapters a day I can read it in three days. Will see how that works. So far the book is awesome... so dark and so good. JK has really outdone herself and I'm only on the first 11 chapters... I can't wait to read more.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Well it's finally here.. the final book in the wonderful Harry Potter series is being released at 12:01am Saturday. Tom, Bruce and I went to a Borders "Harry Potter Book party" Friday night. It was a lot of fun, there were a ton of people there, some dressed (yes I dressed as a Hogwarts student) but everyone was very excited to get their hands on the last Harry Potter book. Since we didn't pre-order the book from Borders we decided to head over to Ralphs to get our books at 12:01. We got to Ralphs and the parking lot was full. There were about thirty people in line waiting for 12:01 to hit so we could get the book. Well I finally got my book around 12:15am and was very excited yet very depressed. I'm excited to read the final book.. but this is the final book. There will be no more Harry Potter books. No more book parties, No more exciting anticipation, No more Harry Potter. There will never be anything else like the phenomena called Harry Potter.

Bruce and I actually sat down on my couch around 1am and read the first chapter. Bruce left and I read one more chapter before I went to sleep. I need to read this book within five days since I'm going to comic con and I don't want to be spoiled. I'm sure I'll have not problem doing so.

Last of the Wedding Stuff

This was our last weekend to finish up getting all of our wedding stuff. We got alcohol, various cups, organized music, and pick up some odds and ends.. Now there are only a few little things left to get but everything seems to be in order.

Harry Potter 5 In IMAX

Today Harry and I went to Citywalk to see Harry Potter 5 at the IMAX theater. The last twenty minutes are in 3D. All I have to say is WOW. I loved this movie already and seeing it on one of the biggest screens and in 3D made me love it even more. Such a great experience. The only weird thing is when they let us out of the theater, they ushered us out the back and no one knew where to go so we walked around the back area of Citywalk then into the employee only section going up stairs and down escalators. We finally found our way back to the front of Citywalk.. it was very bizarre. Anyways.. loved the movie in 3D.

Finally Completed My HP Costume

Well last year I got my Harry Potter Gryffindor robe, scarf and vest but I needed a tie. They didn't have the tie I wanted. I have waited for months for them to get them in stock. Well today I finally went to Whimsic Alley and got the last of the adult tie that I have been waiting for. Now I have my complete Hogwarts Costume. Harry Potter Rocks!!!!!

Job Interview

Today I had a job interview for the second season of a TLC show. I though it went really well.. I had heard about this from a former line producer who is the line producer on the show. They wanted to call a few reference and would let me know within a week... wish me luck.

Comic Con Schedule

Today the Comic Con Schedule came out. Now I can go through the four days and create my schedule of what I would like to see. Of course I never stick by it but it's nice to see what I will be missing. There are always things that are a must and then there are things that I can see if I get tired of walking around the dealers room. As always there are tons of conflict but I just have to pick and choose what I really want to see. I can't wait for Comic Con.

Harry Potter 5 Again

Today Harry and I along with our friends Bruce, John and Mosies went to Grauman's Chinese Theater. I have watched the last four movies at least once at the Grauman's. It's a beautiful theater and the screen and sounds are excellent. We got to the theater a few hours early just so we could get a good seat. We were about seventh in line but by the time Bruce, John and Mosies showed up the people in front let in another 15 people. Even with all those folks we got a really good seat. I was worried what Bruce was going to think of the movie since he hasn't been a fan of the last few.. but he liked it.. everyone liked it. After the movie Bruce, Harry and I went to Jonny Rockets for some dinner. It was a fun night.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Today the fifth Harry Potter movie opened and of course I had to see it first thing. I was going to go to a midnight showing, then a 9:45am showing, then 1:30pm showing.. but things kept popping up and delaying us, but we were finally able see the 4:30 showing. We got there two hour early to get in line. We were about seven people back from the front.. it was super hot and we were dying. But after an hour and a half they let us in and we managed to get some of the best seats in the theater.

Now for the movie... As you all know I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. I have read and listened to all the six of the books many many times and highly anticipating the seventh and final book... anyways back to the movie. In short I LOVED IT... this was my favorite of the five movies so far, but I tend to say that with each new movie. This one was much darker and very story driven. This is the longest novel and yet the shortest movie and it just flies by. The SFX are awesome of course and the acting continues to improve. I think the managed to capture the essence of the story but they did cut a huge amount of the book from the movie.. but this was expected. This movie starts off with a bang and continues move fast forward up to the last 25 minute final battle, which is unbelievable. This movie is the most adult of the five. The new characters are fantastic, both Umbridge and Luna are played perfectly. I am seeing this again Friday night at Mann's Chinese theater with some friends and then again with my Dad on Sunday. Some Harry Potter fans will be disappointed at all the cuts, that just the way it is. But this Harry Potter fan enjoys the books as one version of Harry Potter and the movies as another version of Harry Potter. Can't wait to see it again.

Harry Potter 5 Tickets

So today we went back to AMC Burbank to see if we could exchange our tickets for a later showing. It wasn't a problem at all.. so instead of 1pm we are going to see Harry Potter 5 at 4:30pm instead. As we were leaving I noticed that there are already lines forming for the 12:15AM showing that night.. BTW it was only 2pm. There were about twenty or so people already in line and again there were even more lines for the 9:45am showing.. and yes there were a few people in line for that. I'm a true fan of Harry Potter but I would not wait in line more then a few hours.

After getting tickets for Wednesday (opening day) at AMC Burbank, we headed to Grauman's to get tickets for Friday night, to see the movie with our friends at 7pm. Of course we get there and something is going on ESPY'S awards and it was a bit crazy but did manage to make to the theater and buy tickets for Friday at 7pm.

So will be seeing Harry Potter Wednesday at 4:30pm, Friday at 7pm and possibly Sunday with my Dad. And of course will have to see it in IMAX 3D.

Harry Potter Trio Hand, Feet and Wand in Cement Ceramony

Well like in my previous blog, the next day after the premiere the three main actors were going to be putting there hand, feet and wands in cement in front of Grauman's Chienese Theater. I figured since it was a Monday and folks would be working that it might not be a crazy as it was yesterday during the premiere. Well I was wrong... I got to Hollywood about an hour before it was suppose to start and again there must have been a few thousand people there. in the stands, along the streets all over the place. I actually parked and walked over to the place but I couldn't see anything and it was so hot outside I figure it wasn't worth saying. It was so much choas that I took a few picture of the crowds and headed back home.

Later in the day Harry and I went to AMC in Burbank where we plan on watching HP5 on Wednesday. We figure that 9:45 was too early for us so we got advance tickets for 1pm on Wednesday. When we get home there is a not on our door from our apartment complex telling me that they are inspecting the apartment on Wedesday between the hours of 9am and Noon. So we would no longer be able to get to the movie before 1. Going to try tomorrow and see if I can exchange the tickets for a later time. I'll keep you posted.

Harry Potter Premiere in Los Angeles

Well the next few weeks are going to be full of Harry Potter.. Harry Potter 5 premieres this week and it had it's US premiere here in Los Angeles. Since I had the time off I was going to go down and check it out. I got up early that day to head down there but I started to read stuff online and found out that folks have been camping out 24 hours in advance.. I figured I wouldn't have a chance so I decided not to try and get down there. Later I heard on the news that there were over a three thousand people there. I was very happy that I didn't try to attempt to go down. Oh well we still have two more movies to premiere.

4400

This is a TV series on the USA network, I have wanted to watch this since it premiered in 2004 but always seemed to miss it and figure I would catch it at a later date. So three years later I was able to finally sit down and watch the entire first season (only six episodes). This was a very cool TV series, it had some good stories and the characters were very cool. You think it's an alien abduction but find out it's something more. I like this series because they explain what is going on at the end of season one.. they don't drag it out for many seasons. But with that said there are still a lot of questions. The cool thing is it's currently on its fourth season so I have a lot more to enjoy. If you don't know what it's about.. here's a synopsis.. but there are some spoilers at the end.

When a passing comet abruptly changes course and hurtles towards Earth, there is widespread panic and distress as people prepare for Armageddon. However, the comet does not crash: instead, it slows down, hovers, and eventually touches down on a lake in the Pacific Northwest.

Finally, 4400 people emerge from a blinding white light, people from all different ages and walks of life who have been presumed dead or missing -- and none aged even a day from when they were last seen. It's as if a giant time capsule full of people has been opened up, unaltered and untouched by time.

Although not immediately evident, it soon becomes apparent that The 4400 have each been returned with a special power as they unwittingly begin to exhibit abilities including superhuman strength, healing touch, and clairvoyance. Eager to revisit memories from their past and reunite with those they left behind, two worlds collide as 4400 people acclimated to living in the past are forced to deal with the new challenges of living in the present.

A new federal division agency of Homeland Security called NTAC (National Threat Assessment Command) is formed to follow The 4400, lead by Tom Baldwin, a crime investigator, and Diana Skouris, a bio medic. Tom's involvement is personal: his nephew Shawn was one of the 4400 people abducted - and, if not for Shawn, his son Kyle would have been abducted instead.

Building their investigation case by case, Tom and Diana slowly begin to shed light on the mystery of the 4400. Finally, on the very beach where Shawn was abducted, they learn the truth about what happened: The 4400 were not abducted by aliens, but instead were taken by humans living hundreds of thousands of years in the future. Facing an end stage of human evolution and with a vested interest in the betterment of their predecessors, they have sent back The 4400 to play pivotal roles in upcoming events that will impact the future of mankind.

Last Day of Work

Woo-Hoo!!! This is my last day of work. I am so happy to be putting this job behind me. If you have read my previous blog I quit this job because of problems with the executive producer. But the last week was fairly uneventful. I said my good-byes and left it all behind. A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. You know it was the right decision when you have less stress with "no" job rather then with a job.

Transformers

Today for the fourth Harry and I went out to Burbank to have lunch and see a movie. We wanted to see Transformers and got to the theater about noon. It was a mad house and every showing of Transformers was sold out, luckily the 4:05 showing had some tickets because that is the one we wanted to see, so we got our tickets. We had lunch at one of our favorite places Island. And then walked back to the theater and saw a line starting for Transformers already.. we still had a little over 2 1/2 hours. It was the hottest it's been all well in the 100's and we didn't want to sit there so we went to the mall for a half hour to stay cool. We walked back and saw the line was getting longer so we got into and roasted for an hour and a half before they let us in.

Now for the movie... it was a very fun movie, alot of action, alot of fighting, alot of explosions. The SFX were top notch, which we expected and the story though simple was complete and really explained who and what the Autobots and Decepticans are. The actors were good especially Shia Labeouf. If I had a complaint about the movie is that at times when robot is fighting robot it's hard to tell who is who. But other than that this is a fun roller coaster ride of a movie.

Happy Fourth of July

I hope everyone has a great 4th...

Back to Work

Well today I went back to work after giving my two weeks notice. I started to tell my co-workers and it was nice because they were upset that I was leaving and I got to hear what a good boss I am and it was a good confident builder. Most of them totally understand where I was coming from.. which was nice meaning it wasn't just me. My boss came in my office and asked if we needed to talk.. to said "NO" and she continued to go on and tell me how I need to be more communicative and she wish I would have talked to her before I quit.. blah blah blah.. I told her I liked her as a person, she said.. well not according to my letter. I corrected her and said.. I think you are a good person just a horrible boss. She didn't like that much but oh well. She was very nice the rest of the day. Telling what's going on in post, asking me to do stuff and saying please and if you have time. It was kind of odd. Then I went upstairs to my line producers office and we chatted. He understood why I quit, he did say he didn't know how bad things were for me, I did talk to him a month earlier about quitting. He said they would keep me on only for a week, which was fine with me.. so at the end of this week I will be unemployed... but you know what.. I DON'T CARE!!!!

I plan on taking the rest of the month of July off and start a new job in August.

Two Week Notice

Well I did it... I gave my two weeks notice. I wrote out a very long and detailed letter on why I felt this was the right choice. This will be the first time I have ever quit a job but man my sanity and stress level is more important to me then the job. I finally was able to put my wants infront of others needs. Now I have to wait and see how they will react. I already got a call from my boss, she left a message on my cell phone a few hours later. Saying that she is sorry and didn't know I was that unhappy.. she wanted me to call her back.. but I didn't feel like it. I did give them the option for me to work two more weeks.. I didn't want to leave them with no one but will see if they want me to continue or not.

I AM SO HAPPY... this is the happiest I have been in the past few months. It's like the elephant on my shoulder has been taken off. I'll keep you posted.

Meltdown at Work

Some of you may or may not know but I haven't been too happy with my current job. My executive producer is a very difficult person to work for. She can't seem to handle her stress so I become her whipping boy. She complains about the computer hard drives humming to loud and not being able to work, she blames me for every little thing that happens in post but at the same time she won't allow me to do my job in post. I have no idea what the editors are doing since she won't allow them to follow my schedule. The list goes on and on but the thing that led to my meltdown today was when she called me to her office to complain about lunch again. First let me say that she wants lunch by 12:30 everyday. So she picked Bossa Nova for lunch today, we called it in at Noon and planed on picking it up and back by 12:30pm. Well they were super busy and told us it would be an hour. We told my boss it would be an hour but she seemed okay with that... well like I said she called me to her office and gave me a talken too. Since she didn't get her lunch at 12:30pm she has low blood sugar and wasn't able to concentrate and lost valuable time in the edit bay.. and guess what.. it was my fault. I told her that we did tell her that food was going to be late.. she then went on to tell me that I as post super need to be able to foretell the future and know if a restaurant is going to take longer to do our order so we can call earlier. Well that did it.. that was the final stupid thing she was going to say to me.. I stood up told her that I needed to leave her office and exited. I stopped by the line producers office and told him that I'm going to take this weekend and really think about my job and weather I want to work here or not. I went down stairs back to my desk for about an hour until the line producer, who understands my issues with my boss.. told me I could go home.... so I did.

I have never been so angry before. I was near tears and shaking from head to toe. It took me hours to fall asleep that night.

Re-Building My Computer

Well slowly but surely I have been re-building my PC. It's taken a few weeks but it's all coming back together. If you read previous blogs you know I lost about 10% of my media.. but I did manage to find back up DVD's from 2005 that I had forgotten about with all our Home Videos that we had digitized. So some good news there. I'm still uploading programs and media that has disappeared off my computer. My big thing will be doing my Itunes again. I'm a huge Itunes person and lost everything, music, videos, podcasts... all this stuff will need to be re-uploaded which will take a while. So it will be about a month before my computer is back to where it will be... actually it will never be what it was since I'll never have everything back.. but I got my important stuff.. pictures and home videos.. everything else is extra.

Just When You Think It Can't Get Any Worse

Well today while I was at work Harry worked his magic and after hours and hours of trying figure out what was missing from my computer and got the internet to work. Of course when I got home one of the patches that he downloaded kept causing the computer to crash but he quickly resolved that issue.

So as you know I have been trying to transfer media from my old bad drive to the new one via a really old and slow Mac G3. I am almost done. I have one huge music file and all of our home video that we have digitized from tape to MPG for editing left to transfer. I figure tomorrow I would all be done and ready to re-organize and put back on my computer. Well I was getting out of my jeep and sure enough my computer bad split open and both old and new drives fell about a foot to the hard concrete ground. I quickly went inside the apartment and plugged in both drives and guess what.. the new drive seemed fine but the old one was making a weird kind of clicking inside the actually hard drive area and wouldn't mount to the desktop, just my luck.. being so close to finishing up the transfer and permanently destroying the drive. I swear the hard drives just don't like me. So I'm done with the transfer and I managed to save about 80% of my media. Computers are great when the work but man they are a pain in the ass when they don't. Let's hope this is the end of my computer woes for a while.

Fixing my Computer

Okay.. tried last night to rebuild my computer hard drive and couldn't get it to work.. we gave up. Started the day with cleaning the kitchen, dining and living room. After this Harry and I went back to trying to rebuild my RAID system. We tried and failed several times but finally figured out what the problem was and managed to build my new RAID hard drive system. Great.. finally they computer is up and running with two new hard drive for a total of 600 gigabyte of space. Now it's time to upload all the programs. A few of the programs needed to register online so I decided to hold off on uploading more info and opted to try and connect to the internet through the router. Again this be a PC from hell it wouldn't work... we tried and tried but still nothing. After hours of trying I got frustrated and gave up. So as it is now.. my computer has a new bigger hard drive and windows XP is not operating.. but that's as far as we have gone. Gotta work on it some more. Harry is really good with computers so I'm sure he'll figure out what the problem is. BTW.. still transferring media from the bad drive to the new drive... still have a few more days left.

Cleaning / Kyle XY

I spent today cleaning up the back patio, every few months it seems like a tornado goes through it and it requires a few hours to re-organize and clean up. But once done I have a feeling of accomplishment. The back patio looks great now. Not only did I clean the back patio I also replace all four of our kitchen lights that have been out for a few weeks. I had intended on cleaning more but we started to watch the second episode of Kyle XY and the next thing I knew we were watching episode eight and would have gone more but I didn't have the last disc, so we had to stop. So what started as a great full of energy and cleanaloic day ended with a seven hour marathon of Kyle XY... I'm loving this series.

Computers, Computers, Computers

Well if you read my blog earlier you know my computer hard drive crashed and I had just backed up my entire drive to an external drive, which also crashed. Well we tried hooking up the external hard drive to Harry's Mac to see if it was noticed it. The Mac did see it but you could not mount it. I borrowed Disk Warrior from our friend Bruce, if you don't know what that is it's a fantastic program that can rebuild hard drives and almost always works. Well come to find out that now that Mac's use Intel processors the Disk Warrior won't work with them unless you buy (50 bucks) upgrade. I wasn't going to do this just because I wasn't sure this Mac program would work on a PC created drive.

My next plan was to see if my older G3 Mac laptop would see the drive and sure enough it did. I couldn't believe it. So I tired the Disk Warrior on it and found out that it cannot fix non-Mac drives, glad I didn't buy the upgrade. So instead we hooked up Harry's 500 gig external drive and started to copy over the media. It will take about four or five days to bring everything over... I have over 175 gig of info to transfer on a very slow G3. So it seems like everything is okay.. well except OX 9 for some reason has a weird flaw of truncating the names of a file. So all my e-comics say Star Trek #CHGSI$#$%.cbr and all my music have titles like Bonnie Raitt - Let's $#tnm9#$S.mp3. So it's going to take me a while to go though everything and rename it all so it make sense.. but I shouldn't complain at least I have gotten back about 90% of what I lost.

Kyle XY

This is a TV series on ABC Family Channel. It started last year and I wanted to watch it then but missed a few episodes and I knew this was a serial drama and had to watch it from the beginning to make sense so I waited for it to come out on DVD. Well I got season one on DVD and for TV night tonight we watched the first episode. I really enjoyed it, it's sci fi/fantasy with a little teen drama mixed in. The first episode did a good job at establlishing the characters and the mystery of "Who is Kyle XY". I can't wait to see what happens.

More Birthdays

Happy Birthday to my Cousin Robert and my friend Nicola. I wish you both a very Happy Birthday Today.

Happy Father's Day/Fantastic Four 2

Today Harry and I visited my Dad for Father's Day. We burned him two CD's of his favorite songs and got him Season one of King of Queens. We also took him to lunch and a movie. We saw Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

I really enjoyed the first one. I know some folks didn't like it but it was entertaining to me. I like the effects and really enjoyed seeing how each person dealt with there new powers. I thought the first film also set up the relationships between the characters. So I knew part 2 was going to be action pack and it didn't disappoint. This one also had a more complete story, awesome effects and was very comical at times. The Silver Surfer was pretty cool, we didn't go in great details of his past but just enough to understand why he is doing what he is doing. It was good to see Doom back even though he was more of a minor role until the end. The final battle was great, the Fantatic Car was awesome and I like that Johnny got the spotlight. Both Harry and Dad enjoyed it and it was a fun Father's Day visit.

Computer Woes

My PC has been acting up for months now, but not enough to go through the hassle of re-formatting the hard drives. But today it started to do something worse and I started to get worried so I cleaned off one of my external hard drives and started to back up everything. Took me all day but I managed to back up my entire PC with exception of "My Video" folder which was pretty big. But I got most of it and I was happy. After I backed up everything I checked the external drive to make sure things were okay.. well there were issues. Even though the media was there the drive somehow lost it's format and was no longer a valid drive. I was disappointed but thought.. oh well I'll back it all up again tomorrow.

Well I get up Sunday morning and started my computer and guess what... yep it said that it didn't have a bootable drive and was unable to start. We tried booting from an external CD but it says I don't have any hard drives... then we you do a check on the hard drives and it says the drives are fine and working.

So it seems both my compuer and back up drive have crashed. Luckily I have about 70% of my stuff saved on DVD's but still I hate losing stuff, recent music, audio books, videos and e-comics. I'm still hopeful that I'll be able to retrieve some of my missing media. Here's hoping!!!!

Pirates of the Caribbean III

So after three weeks of it being in theaters Harry and I finally saw Pirates III. First let me say that we watched Pirates II a few nights before since Harry had not seen it so we were in a Pirates mood. The movie opens with some very beautifully haunting images then picks up where the last film left off. This was a fun roller coaster ride of a film. It was more violent then the other two but it was also a "bigger" movie. The special effects were great, the acting was good and the story was fun. My favorite scene was the crew getting back to the land of the living by flipping over their ship. It was a very cool plot point and some very fancy effects. Of course they leave this film open for a sequel and if they make it I'll be there to see it.. if not I'm happy with this great adventurous Trilogy.

Free Hugs

Have you guys seen these You Tube videos called "Free Hugs". It started with a man, Juan Mann down in Australia who was holding up a sign saying "Free Hugs". It was set to music and put on You Tube.. it was instantly a hit and shown all over the world. Then other "Free Hugs" Video started to popping up on You Tube, from China, Peru, Hollywood, New York, Warsaw, Italy and so on.

We live in a very damaged and corrupt world and watching these videos of strangers hugging for no reason other then to hug is inspirational. No More "Little" Brother

Some of you might be wondering why I haven't posted much about my "little" brother in recent months... well there have been some complications. He has had some anxiety and seperation issues with his mother. We tried to make the visits shorter, three hours is manditory but we cut them down to a little over an hour and we thought it was working. But the past few visits have been cancelled with Nico saying he is sick or not feeling well so his mother and I talked along with the Big Brother sponser and decided that he might be a bit young to be in the program and will have to be taken out for the time being.

So this is two "littles" in one year. I think I'm going to take a break from being a Big Brother for a while. It's tough to get to know a "little" and start to enjoy the time spent together then something comes up and you "lose" them. Both of these happend about four months into the program, and at that point you really start to get emotional attached and then they are gone... it's tough. I think I might wait till this current job is over before starting the program again.

Happy 30th Star Wars

Today marks the 30th anniversary of one of my all time favorite movies and series, I can't believe it's been 30 wonder years. I was six going on seven years old when I saw this space movie for the first time. As soon as the little ship being fired on came across the screen followed by the really, really big ship I was hooked. Seeing Darth Vader walk through the blasted door was amazing and it only got better from there. Star Wars started me on my path to Geekhood. Star Wars has shaped my life so much, that I couldn't imagine my life without it. It was Star Wars action figures that began my now very large toy collection. Star Wars let my imagination soar and started my love of sci fi and fantasy. Star Wars was and is simply the best, and will forever be a huge part of my life and I wouldn't want it any other way.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY STAR WARS!!!!!!!!!!

Star Wars Movie Marathon

Well I wasn't lucky enough to attend this event but my brother did and he would call me after every movie. For the first time in the history of the world they screened Star Wars Episode 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 back to back for seventeen hours. It was in celebration of Star Wars 30th anniversary. May 25 marks it official day and this weekend in Los Angeles is the big Celebration IV Star Wars Convention. I will be attending only Saturday and Sunday unlike my brother who took vacation time and is attending all six days. So for now I am living vicariously through him. Sounds like the movies were great.

Shrek The Third

Well we just got back from watching Shrek The Third. We really enjoyed it, the story was very simple. The Frog King dies and Shriek is next in line to be the king, of course he doesn't want it and finds out that there is one other person, Arthur so he goes to get him, while he is gone Prince Charming gathers all the villains and attacks Far Far Away taking over. There were alot of laughs and some very memorable moments.. my favorite being Snow White and her song of attack. Also the Ogre babies are the cutest thing. The movie just flies by it's about 90 minutes. If you liked the first two Shrek you'll enjoy this one. As with the other two Shreks this one has an underlying message of not be limited by how people think of you.

Daisy

Well it's been two years since we rescue Daisy from the pound... two years of not going to Vegas, two years of not taking a vacation, two years of being pretty much restricted on where we could go and for how long. But with that said we wouldn't want it any other way. Daisy has brought so much joy and love into our lives. She loves us unconditionally. She greets us with enthusiasm even if we are gone for just five minutes. Not that she can't be a pain in the butt sometimes.. we still love her and wouldn't change her for anything.

Christopher - My buddy, I know the past few years we haven't seen each other as much as I would like but always know you are in my thoughts.

Typical Week

Nothing too exciting going on. Work is moving along slowly and behind schedule, but this is typical and I'm not to stressed. Still looking for a house to rent but so far no luck. Harry and Daisy are both doing fine. Looking forward to seeing Shrek this weekend.

Mother's Day

Today was spent with MOM. Harry and I went to mom's down in Newport Beach. They were having a BBQ. I got up early and went to Jons to pick up three dozen flowers. Also at the BBQ was my brother and his wife, my aunt Joyce, uncle Marty and their son's girlfriend Jade. My grandmother and my mom's youngest brother uncle Chuck. It was a good time. The weather was nice and the food was great. Got to spend some good time with my mother since we really don't see each other that often.

Happy Surprises

This is how I like to end my workweek. This week was busy at work. We are starting to get close to outputting our first show for the network. There was a lull in my workload and the day was dragging so when the opportunity came up to go junk food shopping for the office I took it. Normally the Post Super don't do things like this but I wanted to get out of the office and I enjoy bringing goodies back to the office and making everyone happy. So I went to Smart and Final and had $200.00 dollars to spend on junk food. I went walking up and down the aisle and got to the candy aisle and noticed slightly under one of the shelves on the floor were two, twenty dollars bills. Of course your instinct is to look around and see if anyone sees you or if the person who dropped them was near by but there was no one around so I picked them up and pocketed them. So not only did I bring happiness to the office with all the goodies I bought but also I got a few extra spending dollars in my pocket. It was a good Friday.

It Finally Happened!!!!

As many of you know I worked on Curl Girls last year and finished it up in Dec. 06. Well that was just the beginning. The Logo network has so many issues and problems with the show, tapes, deliveralbes and such. Some were our mistakes.. but most were the company's left hand not telling it's right hand what it was doing. It has taken me five months to sort all the issues with the network. Finally today I get an email telling me that everything has been accepted and payment for the how has been submitted. Now I can focus on my current job and delete the 5000 emails I have for Curl Girls.

Spiderman III

I really enjoy the Spiderman movies and was looking forward to the third part. Harry and I debated on seeing it opening night Friday. But since work was busy and we knew the crowds would be crazy. I knew with all the new movies coming out every weekend for the next three month we had to see this opening weekend, so we decided to see it on Sunday. We got to the theater for a 3:05 showing. We got there an hour early and there was no one in line so we decided to go check out a local furniture store. Got back to the line and there were about six people in front of us. We were seeing it in one of the smaller rooms but still a very large screen. We sat about three rows back from the middle. The movie was alot of fun. It was very entertaining. I can't say it's better then the other two but is wasn't worse. All three movies are entertaining. They all have there good parts and there slow parts and this episode wasn't any different. I loved the special effects in this one. At points in the fighting so much is happening on screen it's kind of like visual overload. The bad guys were cool Sandman, a misunderstood father. and then the alien black gooo which takes over Peter for a part of the movie but becomes Venom at the end. It was a fun movie and I look forward to seeing again with my Dad in a few weeks.
