Tonight was another TV night. Only John and Mosies showed up but it was still alot of fun. We started the second season of Buffy and did an episode from the first season of The Golden Girls. It was a fun night hanging with friends.

The Day After
After such an awesome three day weekend living in the Star Trek Universe it was hard to go back to work and my everyday life. I got so use to getting up and driving to Long Beach and immersing myself into the Star Trek world. Granted we did the Tour three days in a row and we could have done it in one day but it was exciting to know that we were going back the next day to see and experience more. Now we have tons of photo and video and going to try and build a cool website with our experiences.

Star Trek The Tour
From Friday to Sunday Harry and I were in heaven. Beginning a 40 city tour of the US. We spent the entire weekend in Long Beach at Star Trek The Tour. There were props, models, costumes, rides, replicas of the TOS (The Original Series) and TNG (The Next Generation) Bridge as well as the Captain's room, sickbay and the transporter room from TNG. There were video's and music playing all over the place. We purchased The Captain's VIP package because we knew that this was a once in a lifetime experience and we wanted to enjoy every moment. Friday was great because it was our first day, I walked in and could feel my giddiness start to bubble up. We were in geek heaven, both Harry and I love love love Star Trek. We went from prop to prop taking pictures and check out every inch of the place. We were there from 11am to 6pm and were tired but thrilled to have experienced it and very excited that we got to go back again the next day.Saturday we hung out with friends, Shaun, Bruce and Chris again we got to share of love Star Trek with friends and it made the second day's experience even better. We stayed from 9:30 to 6:30pm and again were very tired.
On Sunday we took th audio tour and that was alot of fun. We knew most the information that was given but it was still fun to listen to. We walked around and enjoyed everything one last time knowing that this was our last day and after today we would not be coming back. We were there from 12pm to 5:30pm.
We had some much fun and look for a page on my website for pictures and more details of what we did.. we took over 1000 photos and 3 hours of video.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

Our New Couch
A few days ago the co-ep of the current show I'm working on and I were talking and she mentioned that she is moving and selling everything. I asked if she had a couch since Harry and I were looking for a new one. She did have one and I asked what it looked it. When she described it to me it sounded like everything that Harry and I were looking for. I asked her to send a picture (above) and once I saw it and knew it was exactly what we were looking for. She was going to give us a great deal (which she did) but the only problem is she was moving the weekend and Harry and I were going to the Star Trek Tour Friday through Sunday. So we had a few days to find a truck and get it from her place in Venice. Luckily my friend Chris let us use his truck so after work today Harry and I drove to my friends Chris's place, pick uped his truck then drove to Robyn's place and loaded up the couch, then drove to Reseda to our place and dorpped it off then drove back to Chris's place in Hollywood to drop off his truck.. when we finally got home it was around 11pm and after working 11 hour day then 4 hours driving and moving I was exhusted, but we got our beautiful new couch in and set up.

BSG Figures
Today when I got home there were several packages. I pre-order a bunch of things and sometimes wait over a year for things to arrive. Today I got series one of the Battlestar Galatica figures.. I ordered these figures early last year and it's taken a while for them to arrives but they are pretty cool and well worth the wait. Also I got my Picard in Starfleet chair, this figure was a replacement figure. The first one was sent to our old apartment and the person there accepted it and signed for it... can you believe it. So they had to re-send me a new one. So now I have my Riker in chair which I got about a week earlier and my Capatian Picard in Chair..

Surprise in the Mail
Today before I headed into work the Fedex guy dropped by the house. He had two large boxes. I signed for them and figured Harry had bought something because I knew it wasn't something that I bought. I put them in the car and figure I would give them to him after work. As I was getting out of my car at work I noticed the name on the address of who they were coming from and knew they were the speical gifts that we were to get with the purchase of the Captain's VIP Package for the Star Trek The Tour. When I got home I opened them and they were these really nice and well made messenger bags with the Star Trek The Tour logo on the front. We also got our VIP badges... can't wait for the weekend!!!

The Sarah Jane Adventures
We had planned to visit my Dad today but since it's raining and at time very hard we decided to stay in. Since we had some time to kill and nothing was on TV Harry and I decided to watch The Sarah Jane Adventures. This is another spin off of the Doctor Who series. Sarah Jane was a very popular companion on the old Doctor Who series. They brought her back in an episode of the new Doctor Who and she was such a hit they decided to do a show for her. I have had the episodes for quite some time just haven't had the time to watch them. I finally burned them to DVD and we started to watch the 10 episode series. Each story made up two of the 1/2 hour episodes. So it was like watching 5 one hour shows. This series is geared toward kids and you can tell that while watching but it's not so kiddy that adults can't enjoy it. I really liked the stories, some were better then others but overall this was a great addition to the Who world along with Doctor Who, Torchwood and now The Sarah Jane Adventures.
I heard this series was picked up for 24 more episodes... can't wait.
Will the rain every stop
It's been raining for seven days straight and they say we have an on and off chance of more rain until Tuesday evening. At this moment in time So.Cal has had more rain then Seattle WA.. now that's crazy.

Torchwood Season 2 Episode 2
Today I managed to get a copy of Torchwood Season Two Episode Two. I had high hopes for this episode since the first episode was really good and this one did not disappoint. Like I have said.. everything is better about this series. This was a very well written and intense episode. This one was setting up some thing that I'm sure will see later this season. The problem with last season is all the characters were so hard to like.. they were all so very flawed. But this season each character is shining and coming into their own. I can't wait for episode three.
Juno
Today I saw Juno, I have heard some good things about this little film. I have to say it was very cute.. kind of a slice of life type of film..It was a simple story told through the eyes of a 16 year old pregant girl named Juno. The acting was great and I like the quirkiness feel to it. This is a must see.

Five Episodes Down
Today I finished our fifth episode of Big Medicine... only eight more to go. Online went pretty smooth today. Video, Audio and then layback.. nothing like watching a show three times in a row in a matter of 10 hours.. fun fun.

Tonight for TV night we watched our ususal Buffy episode but for treat we watched the first episode of season two of Torchwood. I enjoyed season one of Torchwood, it had it's ups and downs but WOW.. the first episode of season two was AWESOME!!! The writing, the acting, the story, the over all look of the show. I looked forward to season two of Torchwood.

Rain, rain and more rain
It's been raining all week and they expect it to ran until next week. At times it's difficult to drive in it because it's coming down so hard. Streets are flooded but luckily we haven't had any problems with our house.

Smogging Harry's Jeep
Today I put the new battery in Harry's Jeep and everything seems pretty good. It started up and ran pretty well. Since the jeep was running and his tags were out of date, though the registration is up to date just needed to get smog. I knew we had a pretty slim chance of passing but I hoped for the best. After an hour of testing the guy came back to me and say I have bad news.. the jeep did not pass.. he tired three times and said everything was great except they car wasn't getting enough gas. I told him the car has not run for a year and a half and he said.. that's probably the issue.. maybe the carburetor needs to be cleaned out. So it did not pass and we have 30 days to fix it and have it re-tested for free. Now we just have to find someone who knows about jeeps.Car problems seems to be a family curse, I know my dad always had issues with cars and it seems that he passed it on me. I hope we can fix Harry's jeep in time so we don' t have to pay for the smog again.. seems like smog tests keep going on $60 bucks now for a test.

Tom's Birthday Party
Tonight Tom invited us out to celebrate his Birthday (which is tomorrow). He planned Dinner, Theater (his play) and dancing. Harry and I weren't feeling so hot all week but we didn't want to miss out on his Birthday celebration so we managed to go to Dinner. We went to a place in Studio City called Miceli's, where the waiters sang. It was a fun night. We opted out of the play and dancing as we didn't feel up to it.. but dinner was great and I heard everyone had a great time at the play and dancing afterwards.

4 Year Anniversary
Harry's Jeep
Harry's jeep has been out of commission for over a year and a half and we just couldn't find the problem. This past weekend we played around with it and put in my battery from my jeep and his jeep started right up. We previously installed a new fuel filter but didn't think that was the problem.. well with my battery the jeep started up great and ran perfectly. I have to back track a bit.. problems with his jeep started when we installed a radio. The battery was dying and we didn't know why. We sent the jeep to the jeep dealer for them to look at it and after three weeks they couldn't find anything wrong.. they said the battery was bad. It was a new battery only a few months old so we took it back to Auto Zone where they did tests and said it wasn't bad. Well we went back and forth for months trying to figure out what the problem was..but nothing made sense.. we figured it was a battery but they kept saying the battery was fine, then we figured it was the fuel system and replaced the fuel filter but still nothing.. anyways we finally replaced the battery with mine and the jeep started up with no issues. So I took the battery back to Auto Zone again for the fifth time and had to run a test. After work I stopped by to pick it up and they told me that the battery was bad and would replace it since we are still in our two-year warranty. So after all that the battery was bad, which we said from the beginning. Now we have to install the new battery and get his jeep smogged before he can drive it again. Oh and while we were checking out his jeep we noticed his transmission is leaking.. if it's not one thing it's another...

Monday Night TV
Well Monday night is my new favorite night for TV.. we watch American Gladiators at 8pm on NBC and then The Sarah Connor Chronicles at 9pm on FOX. Both are really fun shows and I have talked about both of them in previous blogs. Check them out if you are not watching them already.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles
I've been waiting a long time for this series. It was suppose to start in the fall but was pushed back for a mid season replacement. It finally premeried tonight on FOX. The pilot was AWESOME!!!!! So much action and cool special effects. One of the better things about this show is one of my new favorite new actors is in it, Summer Glau. Those who don't know her she played River on Firefly/Serenity and she kicks butt as the good terminator. I hope they keep this action up through out the series, which is suppose to run 13 episodes. Tomorrow night is another episode in it's regular timeslot of Monday night 9pm... can't wait.
The Seeker: The Dark is Rising
Well I was finally able to see this movie.. I wanted to see it back in August when it came out but work was crazy and I didn't have the time. But today I did manage to watch it at home and I have to say it was pretty good. Some what predictable but fun none the less. I know it's based on a series of books but I'm not sure if this one movie encompassed the entire series or just the first book. It had some really cool special effects and the story moved along at a brisk pace. It's a basic story about light and dark, good and evil. I plan on reading the books as the movie did go pretty fast and things were resolved very quickly.

TV Night
Every Thursday Harry and I host a TV night where we watch Sci and Fantasy TV shows and movies. Tonight we continued to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer season one. It's been a while since I watched the first season and watching it reminds me of why I fell in love with this series so many years ago. We plan on watching all seven season which might take a few years but it will be a fun ride. Along with Buffy we watch the pilot episode of The Golden Girls..what a duo.. it was a fun night.

Cleaning Up
Tonight when I got home from work I had a ton of energy, which is very unusual after a long day at work... but I figured I might as well get some stuff done around the house. I organized my toy room and integrated all the new toys I got for Christmas. I put new toys up in our office. Hung all the Star Trek plates in the hallway and still had energy to make some pork chops and rice.

American Gladiators

Today I was finally able to watch the new American Gladiators that I recorded from Sunday and Monday. I was a huge fan of American Gladiators back in the early 90's so I was excited to see it's return... and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. It's just as fun, cheesy and entertaining as it was back then. It actually brought back some great memories of when my Dad, brother and I went to two tapings of the live show. I look forward to watching the rest of these season.

12 Day of Christmas Dinner
Our friends John and Mosies had a 12 Day of Christmas dinner. We spent the night with John, Mosies, Bruce, Tom and John. It was a fun night with some very good homemade mexican food. After dinner we played a little Harry Potter scene it game (of course I was the best :) ) and watched a few clips of Harry Potter 5 and an episode of the Simpsons on their new HD TV / Blu-ray system.. it was beautful. A fun night was had by all.

Enchanted
Today I got to watch a very sweet and fun Disney film called Enchanted. I loved every minute of it. Such a great story, perfect for the family. A great addition to the Disney family of movies. I really enjoyed the story. Fairly simple story but very well executed. The special effects were great. I love the main actress, Amy Adams, who played the princess, she was perfect in this role. Some of the best scenes were when she called upon her animal friends to help clean the house and instead of deer, rabbits and birds she gets mice, rats, penguins and cockroaches.. that was hilarious also when she breaks out into song in the middle of central park.. too funny. And I loved the nice little twist of an ending. I'll be buying this for sure when it comes out on DVD. If you want to see a fun, family friendly, slightly romantic comedy then check out this movie.. it's a must see.

Happy New Years
2008.. can you believe it!!!! Where does the time go??2008 is going to be a great year for Harry and I. We have lots of plans this year. The biggest one is our Commitment Ceremony this August. Harry's family and friends will be visiting during that time for vacation so it should be alot of fun. We have Comic Con in July, which Harry will be attending for the first time. We hope to expand our Ebay store to bigger and better. We want to decorate our house. Paint the walls, plant some flowers, and make our house a home. We also have Star Trek the Tour in February, three days of Star Trek geekiness.
I hope in 2008 I can relax a bit more and enjoy some time off with Harry. We didn't get to vacation in 2007 and seeing that most of the money will be going to our ceremony I don't see us vacationing much this year either. But getting away to the cabin costs nothing and does both of us so much good.
I wish you all a safe, healthy and fun 2008!!!!
Mexican Fiesta with Family
Today, Harry and I went over my Aunt Dora and Uncle Wally's house for a Mexican Fiesta. We have done this the past few New Years Day. Cousin’s Renee and Darren and there families came along with Dora's sister and family. As always it's a lot of fun. A bit crazy at times but alot of fun. Good food and good company makes for a good day.

Packing Up Christmas / New Years Eve at Home

Today Harry and I packed up all our Christmas stuff inside the house. We still have lights on the house. Those will come down next weekend. I like to start off the new year fresh and new. We had gotten so use to all our Christmas decorations since they have been up since Thanksgiving it was strange to see our house without them.
For New Years Eve we tired to get a small group together to hang at our place but that never happened. So Harry and I had a Star Trek Marathon. We watched three episodes of Deep Space Nine and from 11:30pm to 12:30am we watched Star Trek The Next Generation to ring in the new year. We had a great time.

So much for time off!!!
Today was to be my second day off of my four day weekend. Well I got a call from one of my editors informing me that she couldn't be the media drives to mount. Harry and I were just about to go shopping with our Christmas gift cards so we stopped by to check it out. Well it looked at first that the entire Unity (hard drives) crashed and everything was gone. I started to painc.. that would take us weeks to re-digitize all the media and in the middle of online would be horrible. Luckily I managed to restart the system and everything seemed to be okay.
After my small panic attack we went shopping and I went a litle crazy buying 75% off Christmas stuff. I spent well over my $50 gift certificate, but it was fun.

Four Day Weekend!!!
Today I start my four day weekend. I can't remember when I had four days off in a row.. I guess it was comic con this past July. Today I did nothing all day long and it was great. Watched TV, played on the Computer, talked with friends online, hung out with Harry and Daisy... it was great.

Pat on the Back
I normally don't give myself a pat on the back.. but last night I was at work till 1am working on the unity/avid problems. We have five avids at work (for those who don't know what Avid is, it is the editing system that we use to cut out show and Unity is the hard drive system) anyways we have had issues all season with the avids crashing and scanning drives (which takes up alot of time of the editors) so I spent yesterday trying to work out the bugs and I finally got all the systems up and running with no issues at all....nothing.. zero probelms. I am very proud of myself at getting this done.. this is a huge deal and should make everyones (the editors and mine) life much easier. Just wanted to brag for a moment. :)

More Gifts and Future Plans
Today we finally got the Christmas presents from Harry's best friend Sandra. She sent them off over two weeks ago and we were afraid something had happened to them.. but luckily they arrived this morning. Also in the afternoon Harry and I spoke with Harry's sister Gerda and her boyfriend Bernd about there plans to come visit for three week at the end of July, beginning August. They are coming for our commitment ceremony and staying for a vacation. Talking to them today made me realize that our ceremony is not too far off.. eight months will be here in no time.. have to start making plans.

Working Over the Holidays
One bad thing about being a freelance post production supervisor is that I don't get holiday pay. When holidays come up and the offices close you are pretty much out of luck. My current job is down from Dec. 22 to Jan 1st. Though the time off would have been great I really do need to continue to make money so I asked if I could come in during the holidays. Luckily I was able to work four days this (Christmas) week and three days the following (New Years) week. It's not a full five days a week but it's better then nothing.

Christmas Day
Today Harry and I woke up early so we could open our gifts before we had to get on the road. Harry and I were really good this year so Santa brought us lots of goodies. I know Harry was really excited to get Mac OS X Leopard and iLife. I was excited to get my very hard to find British Harry Potter and Doctor Who action figures. It was a very geeky Christmas at our house.Around 11:30 we headed to my mom's for lunch and gift exchange. The past few years have been a bit crazy at my Mom's (my grandmother's dog and Daisy don't get along) so I really wasn't in the mood for the craziness this year. Luckily when we got there we found out that my Grandmother's dog Baby was not there so things started off well. Instead of the traditional spaghetti lunch that mom normally makes she decided to go with a breakfast instead (of course no knew this and we all eat breakfast beforehand). Anyways.. Harry and I had some of the breakfast, which was very good then we opened presents. The past few years my mom has been cutting back on what she would get us for Christmas. It use to be ten or so presents each now it's one or two. This year Mom and Chuck gave Harry and I some money to buy us a washer and dryer (which we still haven't found). So we knew we wouldn't have anything under the tree. She did buy us both several shirts just so we could open a gift. All in all a pretty good afternoon at mom's.
Around 4 we headed to Dad for a Turkey dinner and gift exchange with Dad, Mike and sister-in-law Lora. Dinner was fantastic. Everyone was very delicious.. Dad really out did himself this year. After dinner we started to open gifts.. unlike Mom's everyone had about ten to fifteen gifts each. It was a fun time. Got some cool t-shirts, action figures and more geeky stuff.
All in All is was a great Christmas, alot of driving which took it's toll on me but it was a great time had by all... MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas Eve at Renee's
Today Harry, Dad and I went over to my cousin's Renee's house. We have spent Christmas Eve with them the past few years. It's always good to see my Dad's side of the family. We try and see at much of them as possible since I found them only a few years ago.We got there a little early to we could help in making Christmas cookies. When the got there the kids were well into it so we tried to help out were we could. It was alot of fun making cookies with the kids.
After cookies I helped with Dinner, which turned out to be fantastic. After dinner we opened presents and everyone had a great time.
Around 7:30pm Harry, Dad and I left the festivities because we still had to drive Dad home. Harry and I finally got home around 11 and we were exhausted and went right to bed.

Picking up Dad
Today Harry and I drove out to Corona to visit my Dad. Also I found out that he would be coming back home with us so we could take him to our family Christmas Eve party. This was the original plan but then I had heard it had changed and that my brother was going to take him to our Uncle Wally's house who would then bring him to the party. Well I guess plans change again and when I called my Dad right before we were to visit he, he informed me of the changes... it wasn't a big deal Harry and I planned to do "our" Christmas present opening on Christmas Eve morning but with Dad there plans had to change.

Birthdays
Today is two of my friends Birthdays. First Michael and I have known each other for many many years. We met online in a Star Trek chat room and became fast friends. He is in the military and moved to Socal so we actually got to meet up and hang out. We don't see each other as often as we would like but we talk online every few weeks. He is about to be sent to Iraq.. we wish him the best of luck and Happy Birthday MichaelMy other friend Shaun is a great guy. We meet through a Star Trek group. Shaun and I are so much alike in the TV/Movies viewing. We are both uber geeks and love it. Again like Michael we don't get to see each other as much as we would like but we enjoy the time we do hang out together. Happy Birthday Shaun.

TV Night / Snowmen
Tonight was our last TV night of 2007. We of course watch the Christmas movie Elf. It was alot of fun. Richie, Gary, Bruce and Angie showed up. As everyone was watching the movie I had to make about 15 snowmen for Christmas presents for my co-workers.. of course I wait till the last minute and what is normally a week process I did in a matter of three hours.

Writers Strike
It's funny how many times I get asked if the writers strike effects me. So I figured I would blog about it so everyone will know how it effects me. The writers strike doesn't effect me at all. I have my job till April and since it is a reality/docu drama there are no writers and are show is moving along full steam. So thanks for all your concern but I am currently in a good place with my job.

Christmas Cookies
Harry got a late start of making Chirstmas cookies, but today he made a few batches so when I got home from work I of course had to taste test them.. next thing I knew I had eaten about ten of them and couldn't stop. His cookies are not super sweet which is great because you can eat quite a few and not feel sick. I eat so many that he had to make another batch so we could give them out for the holidays.

Joined the PGA (Producers Guild of America)
Today while at lunch with my friend/Co-worker she mentioned the PGA and said I should join. I didn't realize as a Post Production Supervisor I could join the Producer's Guild. So when I got back to work I checked it out and sure enough I could join. The PGA is not a union like WGA or SAG but you get some very cool benefits like free movie screenings, and during the award season you get DVD screeners and are able to go to the nominated movies for free. The fees aren't that bad. It's $350 for the initiation fees and $150 a year. I sent in my application and now I just have to wait and see if I’m approved.
