Harry's Birthday

Today is my special guys 37th birthday. We are the same age for the next six months :) I had to be in Online all day today but when I got home I took him out to his favorite Steak house, Outback Steak House. We have gone there for his birthday ever since he has been in the U.S.. We normally go with friends and family but this year we are having a BBQ get together this weekend at our house so this time it was just Harry and I. It was a very nice dinner. Kind of a quiet birthday but he likes it that way. Here's to many more dinners at Outback Steak House with my honey.

Love you

New Job

Well as some of you may know my current job will be ending in the next few weeks. I had an interview today with a former co-worker and a former company that I had worked with previously. It's for a new 10 episode Reality Game Show for NBC. They need a Post Super to start the Monday after my last Friday so it seems to work out great. I went in for the interview but it was more of a "here's is what we need to do" meeting. It seemed that the job was mine before I had even gotten there. The job sounded good and it lasted till mid September.

I didn't want to accept until I had a chance to go back to my old job and ask them if there was anything coming up. My current company has a lot of things happening just not soon enough and they couldn't match my pay rate, so I accepted the position at the new job. I start officially on April 14th but will be going in the week prior to work on starting up post.

I would have preferred to take some time off in between jobs as I really do need a break but when something like this comes along you can say no.. this will be my first Network show that I will be working on.. I'm very excited.

Another Doctor's Visit

Today I had an appointment with my Colon specialist, Dr. Madsen. This was the person that Doctor Mills referred me to for my hemorrhoid problem. I figure I would go in and she would do the examination and I would set up a time for surgery. Well we talked for a few minutes, and I have to say she was very sweet and kind, which was very nice and she informed me that it could be a number of things and she would know more once she examined me. Well the next thing I knew I had my pants down around my ankle and I was lying on my side exposing my butt to this complete stranger. I won't go into super details so let's just say she inserted a probe and took a look around. She did find several hemorrhoids and to my surprise she said she was going to inject medicine directly into them and sure enough I could feel the medicine being injected in.. it was very discomforting to say the least... after she infected three times she told me she was done and to come back in two months.. I asked her if that's it and she said yes.. that in a few days I'll feel great and everything should be fine. I guess I don't need surgery, at least not at this time.

Christopher's Eggarama

My good friend Christopher has an Easter Egg coloring party every year.. at least the past six years and it's such a fun time to hang out with friends and paint easter eggs. This year I managed to paint a full dozen of eggs (normally it's only six) and it was a ton of fun. Harry did not attend but my good friend Bruce did and he and I had a great time painting out eggs together. Christopher has some great friends and it's always nice to hang out with them. Can't wait for next year.

Work Is Almost Over

Today is the last day of Offline Editing for Big Medicine. We finally finished our 13th episode. So far 11 episodes have been complete and are in the can and we have two more to do 212 next week and 213 the week after that and then I have one week to clean up and I'm done with Big Medicine.

Still don't have a clue what I'm doing next. There is talk here at The Idea Factory of more work but they can't give me a start date. I also have an interview next week with my former Line Producer working on a show for NBC. So keep your fingers crossed.

Doctors Visit

Well it's been a year since I have been to the doctors and I have been having some issues lately so I figured it was a good time to visit. I had an appointment today with Dr. Mills. When I was looking for a doctor I really wanted a gay doctor and my friend Bruce recommended Dr. Mills. He is a really nice guy even though I've only had one office visit. So today was my second visit with Dr. Mills. I have been having some chest tightening and I continue to deal with my sever case of hemorrhoids. The doc did his examination and said that the chest pains could be from heartburn and prescribed me some medication. As for the hemorrhoids he refereed me to a colon specialist and prescribed me some medication to temporarily relieve some pain. He also did an EKG of my heart to make sure there is nothing wrong there... so it's off to the colon specialist for me. Getting old really sucks.

Fixing the Tire

Well I got up early today to try and get they stripped lug nut off the tire so I could change it.. after an hour or so of trying I finally gave up and decided to call AAA. They sent someone out and who tried and remove the lug nut but they had no luck. So he called a tow truck and we towed the Jeep a few blocks away to the local Pep Boys (which btw I hate.. long story). They informed me that it was cost me $45 to remove the lug nut. At that time I didn't care I just wanted it done. About and hour later they start working on my Jeep. Using their high power "impactor" tool they had the lug off in two seconds. I ask for them to put my spare tire on because the tire they took off was under warranty and I was going to take it back to the place and have them fix it. As he took my spare off he called me over to show me a nail in my spare tire. He said he would have to fix it before they could put it on.. that would cost an additional $25. I figure since I was fixing a tire I might as well have them fix the good tire instead of the spare. He also informed me that all my lug nuts were starting to strip and I should replace them all. Of course they don't have the same ones I use so now I have funky looking lugs on that tire but it holds it on. Also my Jeep has five lugs and they sell the lugs in packs of four.. so yep I had to buy two packs. Needless to say two hours later and $80 poorer I got my tired fixed and I head home to try and enjoy my Sunday off.

Happy Birthday Bruce

Today is one of our good friends Birthday... Bruce.

Bruce is my Harry Potter Buddy and we shared something very speical with the last two books. We would talk almost every night and discuss the chapters we read. We would cry together, laught together and have the OMG moments together. It was fantastic.

He was having a dinner and dancing party in Hollywood tonight and Harry and I got ready and began to drive away from the house when I noticed that my jeep was pulling to one side. I thought Oh shoot I have a flat and sure enough the drivers front left tire was flat. We were already running late and it started to rain. I got out and started to get the jack and stuff. I unscrewed one, two, three, four lug nuts and when I got to the fifth guess what.. it was stripped. I could not believe it. By this time I was super frustrated but thankful that we were only a block from our house so we limped the jeep home to our driveway and I called Bruce and told him that we would not be attending his Birthday bash.. which really upset me as Harry and I were really looking forward to it.

Harry Potter Book 7 Split

Today they announced that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is the seventh and last book in that series would be made into two movies I love this idea as the final book has so much stuff going on and it was be very difficult to cut this down to a two hour movie. I think starting with Goblit of Fire all the Harry Potter books should have been two movies as many of the films had to be cut down and if you want the full experience of the Harry Potter World you need to read the books.

I love the movies but they don't hold a candle to the actual books. So I am very happy that the Harry Potter movie series will go out with a bang and do the series justice.

BTW.. Happy Birthday to Sue from the Pottercast podcast.. go Hufflepuff!!!!

5th Anniversary

oday is the Five Year Anniversary of when Harry met Kenny. Well actually this is the day that I got a response to my personal ad on Yahoo. Who whould have guess that when I was reading and responding to that email that this would be the guy I would spend the rest of my life with. Happy Five Years Sweetie.

Michelle's Birthday

Today is one of my oldest friends Birthday.. I don't mean in age I mean in time we've know each other. We became roommates back when I was 20 (over 18 years ago) and we also worked together for many years. We have had our ups and downs but it's been a great ride. I don't get to see her, in fact it's been many years since we've seen each other but we do talk via email once a while. One day we will catch up again on our lives. A very happy birthday Michelle. HUGS

Daylight Savings

This morning was Daylight Savings.. we had to turn our clocks ahead one hour.

What is daylight-saving time?

Daylight-saving time is a system established to reduce energy use by extending daylight hours (clocks are set ahead one hour). This year, daylight-saving time begins at 2 AM on Sunday, March 9, 2008. Daylight-saving time ends at 2 AM on Sunday, November 2, 2008. In the past, daylight-saving time began in April and ended in October. However, an energy bill signed by President George W. Bush on August 8, 2005 extended daylight-saving time as part of a long-term solution to the nation's energy problems. The new law extended daylight-saving time by four weeks; beginning three weeks earlier and ending one week later. Also under the new laws, the entire state of Indiana now observes daylight-saving time. Prior to the new laws, only certain areas of the state observed the time changes.

I don't like losing an hour but I do like Daylight Savings. I enjoy getting out of work at 7pm and it still light outside.

I also had to work today but I did get Friday off to make up the time. Just finished our 10th episode.

Dinner with Friends

Today Harry and I went over to our friends John and Moises' house for dinner and games. We were celebrating John's birthday which was a week earlier. Joining the party was Tom, Bruce, John, Moises, Harry and I.

Moises always makes a great dinner, this time we had soft taco's. We played a few games, had dinner and then watched a movie on their new TV and Blu-ray system. It was a fun night.

Off Work / Ebay Store

Today I was off work since I have to go in on the weekend.. they were kind enough to let me take a day off during the week. Even though there were technical issues and I had to go in for about ten minutes to fix it... it was still a day off. Today I really wanted to work on our Ebay Store. Federation Outpost

It was doing really well when we first started but the past month or so it's really slowed down. We are barely making enough money to cover the cost of having the store. We also started to take off all our holiday items and wait till later in the year to put them back up. Well in doing so that removed about half our items in our store but we have a ton of stuff that can be put up. The process of putting stuff up is a job in itself. It's something that I start but quickly get side tracked. Today I did manage to upload about six or seven new items. It's not what I was hoping for as I was hoping to get almost everything up but it's a start, we currently have 107 items in our store.

TV Night

Tonight was another TV night. It seems like the last few months it's a hit or miss with TV nights. Our regular crew is made up of Tom, John, Moises, Bruce, Harry and I with special guest appearances from Shaun, Richie and Gary. Seems like everyone is busy, tired, or not in the mood for TV nights nowadays. Tonight we had Tom, John and Moises. It's been about a month since Tom graced us with his presence. It was good to see him again. We watched an episode of the second season of Buffy and an episode of the first season of Golden Girls. I can't remember the last time we were all there together but Harry and I are always happy to see those who can make it whenever they can.

The Last Episode

Tonight was the two hour season (hopefully not series) finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I really enjoyed this series, a lot of action and some really cool at times confusing storytelling (they dealt with time travel). Summer Glau is AWESOME and one of the reasons I love this show so much. I hope Fox doesn't pull another Firefly and let this great series fall through it's fingers.. only time will tell... keep your fingers crossed.

Six Months To Go

Wow time just seems to be flying by. We now have six months before Harry and I have our Commitment Ceremony. Save the date... August 2nd. So much to do.. decorations, music, video, photos, cakes, caterers and tuxes or Starfleet Uniforms.. so many decisions... Wish us luck...

Happy Birthday John

Daisy goes to the Dentist

Our last Vet visit the doctor said that Daisy really should get a good teeth cleaning but we should wait since they have a sale on teeth cleaning in February so we waited.. Well today was the day. This was going to be the first time we went to the Vet and had to leave her there.

Of course we get in the car and she is super excited, she loves car rides. Soon as we get to the Vet she realized something was up and started to wine. We go inside nad he is in total panic mood. We tell the Vet tech that she is nervous and can bite so they allowed us to take her back to the shelter. As we put her in she had no idea what was going on and I felt so guilty leaving her. She gave us that look of "you don't love me anymore" and my heart broke.

As many of you know we got her from the shelter two years ago and I'm sure being put into another shelter cage was very tramtic for her.

Well we left and I went to work waiting for the call to let me know that they were done and we could pick her up. I got a call around 11:30 let me know that everything went great and we could pick her up in two hours. Well Harry and I counted down the time and as soon as two hours hit we quickly went over to the Vet and picked her up. They said she was perfect.. which I find hard to believe, but there she was all happy and excited to see us pulling this poor petite vet tech down the hall.

She's been out of it all day long but she has pretty teeth now

Grandma's Birthday

Today is my Mom's mother's birthday.. she's 77

Happy Birthday Grandma

Breakfast and Movie

Since Chris was heading out of town for a few months we wanted to hang out one last time. Both of us are lovers of Fantasy so we went to go see The Spiderwick Chronicles. First we planned for him to come over around 10, I knew since he partied hard last night that he wouldn't make it.. but he did show up around 11. First thing first.... he had heard me talk about my toy room and wanted to see it first hand.. well I took him in my office/toy room overflow first and it was funny to see the look of surprise when I told him that this wasn't the toy room.. just the overflow room. Then we went into the toy room and like many before him his jaw dropped in amazement while we looked around for a bit. We then went to breakfast, we tried to find a cool little breakfast dive but since I'm still fairly new to the area we couldn't find anything and wound up at Denny's.

After breakfast we of course missed the first few showings so we had an hour and a half to kill. We drove to Borders and looked around for a bit.

About a half-hour before the movie started we drove to the theater, bought our tickets, some soda/water and sat down in the middle of the theater. It wasn't packed which was nice. The movie just flew by. This was a children’s book series made up of five books and they combined them into this one movie. It was a very fast pace and never slowed down. The effects were really good and the story was complete. When it was over we were both happy with it. It was a fun movie. After the movie we drove back to my pace where he met Harry and Daisy, we said our good-byes and good lucks and he was off. It was a fun morning/afternoon.

Goodbye and Good Luck Chris

It was Chris' last day. He is the Post Production Assistant and has been with us the past four months. Chris and I hit it off right away when he first started and our friendship grew. It's not often that you find co-workers that you want to continue a friendship with outside of work, but he is one of them. He is the sweetest nicest guy you will ever meet. He's very hard working and deserves all the success he finds. He is leaving us because he got a really good opportunity to write, produce, shoot and edit some webisodes for a swimming website. He will be missed at work, but our friendship will continue pass this job and for many years to come.

Tonight after work a few of us went out for some drinks (not that I drink). It was alot of fun. We went to a bar/restaurant in West Hollywood. I don't drink so it was fun to see Chris, Bryan, Laura and Matt get buzzed. I only stayed a few hours, as I was super tired from a long day in Online. It was a fun night.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is Harry and my fourth Valentine's together. This year we decided not to get anything for each other. We are trying to save up funds for our wedding in August. We don't need one day to claim our love for each other.. we live it everyday. Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart.

Big Brother is Back

Tonight started the ninth season of Big Brother. Yes I'm a fan of this reality show. I have seen every season of it. This years spin is the teamed up contestants into couples. They will play, vote, win and lose as a couple. Of course they are all very beautiful people.. will with one exception. The first episode was fun.. there are a few extra twist but this looks to be a fun season of Big Brother.

Monday Night TV

Tonight we watched the second to last episode of American Gladiators. I'm so glad it has been a success and NBC has picked it up for a second season. This total fluff tv but it's so much fun to sit back and enjoy. I hope to get tickets to watch it live from the second season.

Another great show on Monday is Kyle XY. It's in it's second season and the story is getting more and more invovled, but unlike Lost I'm not getting tired of all the questions. Plus Matt Dallas is yummy to look at with his no belly button washboard stomach.

And if that wasn't enough we also watch Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. It's on it's fourth episode and they keep getting better and better. This series has one of my favorites from Friday Summer Glua and she can kick some butt.

Monday's have some cool sci fi/fantasy TV

The Ready Room Podcast

For several years I have been a member and modirator of a sci fi and fantasy forum. It's fairly small but the people I have meet there are great. About a year ago we started a rpg (Roll Playing Game) that takes place in the Star Trek world. When we started I was first officer but quickly got bumped to Captain and started to run the game. Luckily I have a co-modirator now who helps me in running the game. Well we came up with a cool idea of keeping everyone informed of what's going on with the game.. we have decided to start doing a podcast called The Ready Room. I spent today finishing the editing on episode #3. They are so much fun to record as well as edit. If you want to check out the forums click on the link. Treks in Sci Fi

Dinner

Tonight Harry and I were invited out by some co-workers. We were having dinner down in Marian Del Rey. It was quite a drive for Harry and I but we don't go out often and thought it would be fun. When we get there we find out the reservation was cancelled so they put our names down again and a group of us went down the street to get some drinks (I did not drink). Well long story short two hour later we were sitting at our table having pasta and wine. It was a very fun night. It's always interesting to see fellow c0-workers let down there hair a bit.. some more then others!!!!!

Taxes

Today was tax day for me. I have them done my Mike my account who has done them the past seven years of so. This year was different as I only worked 9 out of the 12 months and collected $5000 in unemployment. I also claimed 2 instead of my normal 0 or 1 so I was just hoping to just break even. Since I do work as a freelance employee in the Entertainment Industry I can write off quite a bit of stuff (entertainment related). In the end I did alot better then I expect, the good news I will not own any money and will be getting a modest check from the Federal and State Government.

Halfway Point

Today we Onlined the seventh episode of 13. We have reached the half way point. Episode 8 is going to be worked on next week.. then only five episode left.. I didn't think I would have made it but we are on the backside of the hill.. let's just hope there are no holes along the path.

The Day After

After such an awesome three day weekend living in the Star Trek Universe it was hard to go back to work and my everyday life. I got so use to getting up and driving to Long Beach and immersing myself into the Star Trek world. Granted we did the Tour three days in a row and we could have done it in one day but it was exciting to know that we were going back the next day to see and experience more. Now we have tons of photo and video and going to try and build a cool website with our experiences.

Star Trek The Tour

From Friday to Sunday Harry and I were in heaven. Beginning a 40 city tour of the US. We spent the entire weekend in Long Beach at Star Trek The Tour. There were props, models, costumes, rides, replicas of the TOS (The Original Series) and TNG (The Next Generation) Bridge as well as the Captain's room, sickbay and the transporter room from TNG. There were video's and music playing all over the place. We purchased The Captain's VIP package because we knew that this was a once in a lifetime experience and we wanted to enjoy every moment. Friday was great because it was our first day, I walked in and could feel my giddiness start to bubble up. We were in geek heaven, both Harry and I love love love Star Trek. We went from prop to prop taking pictures and check out every inch of the place. We were there from 11am to 6pm and were tired but thrilled to have experienced it and very excited that we got to go back again the next day.

Saturday we hung out with friends, Shaun, Bruce and Chris again we got to share of love Star Trek with friends and it made the second day's experience even better. We stayed from 9:30 to 6:30pm and again were very tired.

On Sunday we took th audio tour and that was alot of fun. We knew most the information that was given but it was still fun to listen to. We walked around and enjoyed everything one last time knowing that this was our last day and after today we would not be coming back. We were there from 12pm to 5:30pm.

We had some much fun and look for a page on my website for pictures and more details of what we did.. we took over 1000 photos and 3 hours of video.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

Our New Couch

A few days ago the co-ep of the current show I'm working on and I were talking and she mentioned that she is moving and selling everything. I asked if she had a couch since Harry and I were looking for a new one. She did have one and I asked what it looked it. When she described it to me it sounded like everything that Harry and I were looking for. I asked her to send a picture (above) and once I saw it and knew it was exactly what we were looking for. She was going to give us a great deal (which she did) but the only problem is she was moving the weekend and Harry and I were going to the Star Trek Tour Friday through Sunday. So we had a few days to find a truck and get it from her place in Venice. Luckily my friend Chris let us use his truck so after work today Harry and I drove to my friends Chris's place, pick uped his truck then drove to Robyn's place and loaded up the couch, then drove to Reseda to our place and dorpped it off then drove back to Chris's place in Hollywood to drop off his truck.. when we finally got home it was around 11pm and after working 11 hour day then 4 hours driving and moving I was exhusted, but we got our beautiful new couch in and set up.

BSG Figures

Today when I got home there were several packages. I pre-order a bunch of things and sometimes wait over a year for things to arrive. Today I got series one of the Battlestar Galatica figures.. I ordered these figures early last year and it's taken a while for them to arrives but they are pretty cool and well worth the wait. Also I got my Picard in Starfleet chair, this figure was a replacement figure. The first one was sent to our old apartment and the person there accepted it and signed for it... can you believe it. So they had to re-send me a new one. So now I have my Riker in chair which I got about a week earlier and my Capatian Picard in Chair..

Surprise in the Mail

Today before I headed into work the Fedex guy dropped by the house. He had two large boxes. I signed for them and figured Harry had bought something because I knew it wasn't something that I bought. I put them in the car and figure I would give them to him after work. As I was getting out of my car at work I noticed the name on the address of who they were coming from and knew they were the speical gifts that we were to get with the purchase of the Captain's VIP Package for the Star Trek The Tour. When I got home I opened them and they were these really nice and well made messenger bags with the Star Trek The Tour logo on the front. We also got our VIP badges... can't wait for the weekend!!!

The Sarah Jane Adventures

We had planned to visit my Dad today but since it's raining and at time very hard we decided to stay in. Since we had some time to kill and nothing was on TV Harry and I decided to watch The Sarah Jane Adventures. This is another spin off of the Doctor Who series. Sarah Jane was a very popular companion on the old Doctor Who series. They brought her back in an episode of the new Doctor Who and she was such a hit they decided to do a show for her. I have had the episodes for quite some time just haven't had the time to watch them. I finally burned them to DVD and we started to watch the 10 episode series. Each story made up two of the 1/2 hour episodes. So it was like watching 5 one hour shows.

This series is geared toward kids and you can tell that while watching but it's not so kiddy that adults can't enjoy it. I really liked the stories, some were better then others but overall this was a great addition to the Who world along with Doctor Who, Torchwood and now The Sarah Jane Adventures.

I heard this series was picked up for 24 more episodes... can't wait.

Will the rain every stop

It's been raining for seven days straight and they say we have an on and off chance of more rain until Tuesday evening. At this moment in time So.Cal has had more rain then Seattle WA.. now that's crazy.

Torchwood Season 2 Episode 2

Today I managed to get a copy of Torchwood Season Two Episode Two. I had high hopes for this episode since the first episode was really good and this one did not disappoint. Like I have said.. everything is better about this series. This was a very well written and intense episode. This one was setting up some thing that I'm sure will see later this season. The problem with last season is all the characters were so hard to like.. they were all so very flawed. But this season each character is shining and coming into their own. I can't wait for episode three.

Juno

Today I saw Juno, I have heard some good things about this little film. I have to say it was very cute.. kind of a slice of life type of film..It was a simple story told through the eyes of a 16 year old pregant girl named Juno. The acting was great and I like the quirkiness feel to it. This is a must see.

Five Episodes Down

Today I finished our fifth episode of Big Medicine... only eight more to go. Online went pretty smooth today. Video, Audio and then layback.. nothing like watching a show three times in a row in a matter of 10 hours.. fun fun.

TV Night

Tonight for TV night we watched our ususal Buffy episode but for treat we watched the first episode of season two of Torchwood. I enjoyed season one of Torchwood, it had it's ups and downs but WOW.. the first episode of season two was AWESOME!!! The writing, the acting, the story, the over all look of the show. I looked forward to season two of Torchwood.

Rain, rain and more rain

It's been raining all week and they expect it to ran until next week. At times it's difficult to drive in it because it's coming down so hard. Streets are flooded but luckily we haven't had any problems with our house.

Torchwood Season 1 on DVD

Today I picked up Torchwood Season One box set on DVD. This is a spin off series of Doctor Who. It's more adult with much more adult themes then Doctor Who. Season one was pretty good.. it's had some okay episodes but then it had some AWESOME episodes. I look forward to season two.

Smogging Harry's Jeep

Today I put the new battery in Harry's Jeep and everything seems pretty good. It started up and ran pretty well. Since the jeep was running and his tags were out of date, though the registration is up to date just needed to get smog. I knew we had a pretty slim chance of passing but I hoped for the best. After an hour of testing the guy came back to me and say I have bad news.. the jeep did not pass.. he tired three times and said everything was great except they car wasn't getting enough gas. I told him the car has not run for a year and a half and he said.. that's probably the issue.. maybe the carburetor needs to be cleaned out. So it did not pass and we have 30 days to fix it and have it re-tested for free. Now we just have to find someone who knows about jeeps.

Car problems seems to be a family curse, I know my dad always had issues with cars and it seems that he passed it on me. I hope we can fix Harry's jeep in time so we don' t have to pay for the smog again.. seems like smog tests keep going on $60 bucks now for a test.
