Kids These Days

I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older and more cantankerous but today I was at a fast food place picking up lunch and it was about the time kids were getting out of school and there were several boys in front of me in line and about seven girls behind me. They had to be around 15 or so, first of all the boys in front of me were talk to loud the entire restaurant could hear them but the girls behind me were the most rude, racist, mean spirited kids that I have ever heard. They were also very loud. Talking about Asians having it easier in life for some reason and how the Hispanics need to go back to Mexico and why do all black people feel like "the white" people owe them something.. I was shocked at what I was hearing and it took every ounce of energy I had to not turn around and say something or slap them.

Like I said I don't know if it's the fact that I'm getting older or that kids are just getting ruder. I know when I was younger I was very respectful for all people but I guess that was just me... it's sad to think that this is the future of the human race.

  1. Wow Kenny,

That is just ridiculous. I have to agree, that it just makes me sad to see the continued downward spiral of society.

  3. I'm a few years younger then you are, Kenny (I'm 25) but I also feel the "kids" of these days are way ruder and rougher then they 'should be'. Less respect and often looking for a (verbal) fight. Constantly trying to prove their superiority to whoever may be near them. Always doing things just for personal gain and hardly ever just to help somebody else.

    *sigh*...
