My Sunday

Since I didn't get done as much as I was hoping for yesterday I really wanted to focus on doing nothing but podcasting today. Got up at 8am and had to watched the last six episodes of MASH season one as I was having a skype call with my buddies Al and Simon so we could record episodes 19 to 24 of our MASH 4077 Podcast. Took a few hours to watch those six episodes and then I worked on MASH 4077 podcast episode 15 which is due to be released on September 1st. Worked on it a few hours before having to stop and jump on this skype call at noon. Took us 3 hours to record our six episode but it's always a blast recording with Al and Meds (Simon).

After the recording I headed out to grab a bite to eat. Got home and watched an hour of TV before jumping back on the computer around 5pm and at about 6pm I was finally finished with my first pass for the next MASH podcast. I then took a break to clean up my pantry/laundry room. Got back to work and did my 2nd pass on the MASH podcast (that's when I add the audio clips from the episode). That took a few hours and around 8:00pm I finished with it and finally was ready to do my final "polish" pass and that took me another hour or so. So at 9pm I had finally finished editing my next MASH podcast. I leveled the audio, converted the file and uploaded it in a half hour. Podcast #2 is done, finished Confessions of a Fanboy #1 yesterday and MASH 4077 Podcast #15 today. But I still had one more to finish. I knew it was hopeless so my new plan was to string out all the interviews for my next Knights of the Guild CompanionCast S5E6. There were 14 interviews and over 2 hours of audio and at 11pm I finally finished the stringout. Still got alot of work to do on it and if I wasn't so tired I would try to start editing but I'd rather get some much needed rest. I have a few days before this podcast is due so I'll be working on it the next few nights after work.

It was a Podcast kind of weekend. Launched a new podcast, got another episode done for my MASH podcast and got started working on my new KOTG CompanionCast. Also recorded audio for my MASH podcast episodes 19 - 24. Cleaned a few rooms in my house and visited family and got the best news I could wish for.... all in all it was a pretty good weekend.

My Saturday

So this weekend I have 3 different podcasts that I need to, if not finish, get a big portion of them done. So I got up around 7am and started working on episode 15 of my MASH 4077 Podcast. After several hours of editing and needed a break so I went and cleaned my kitchen. When I got back to my computer I decided to try and record and finish my very first Confessions of a Fanboy podcast. I recorded some of it a few days ago but still had some more recording and then editing of the podcast.

At 10am I decided to take another break and this time I went out and did some much needed yard work. It was hot, in the high 90's so I only lasted a half hour, but got quite a bit of work done. After that I had to take a shower and get ready to go visit my Dad.

At 11:30am I headed out to my Dad's and arrived around 1pm. Had a nice visit with my Dad, had lunch, and took him shopping. He had his final chemo treatment a few days prior and so he didn't have a lot of energy so we took our time. I did get some great news.. as of my Dad's latest doctors appointment they did a cat scan and couldn't find any more cancer. All test were negative so the doctors have said he is now cancer free. His while blood cell count is below average and that's because the chemo kills the bad cells but also kills the good. So he'll need to take some meds for the next few months but he should be back to normal in no time.

I got back on the road around 4pm and arrived home at 6:30pm. Had some dinner and then jumped back on the computer to hope and finish both my MASH and Confessions of a Fanboy podcast. Well that didn't quite happen. I did finish my first episode of my new podcast Confessions of a Fanboy so I feel as thought I accomplished something... but that leaves two podcasts that I have to finish tomorrow. Oh well will see what happens.

Professional Podcaster

So my current TV gig is ending in less then a month (Whoo hooo). I'm really trying hard to not go back into TV Post production supervising because as I am getting older the stress of the job is taking a larger toll on me mentally and physically. So what do I do instead. 40 is pretty late in life on a career change and my next career I would love to have less stress and I don't need to make a ton of money as long as I can pay for my mortgage and monthly expense then I'll be good. So what to do?? PODCASTING!!!

Well I love Podcasting; creating, producing, editing and hosting.. it's all tons of fun and I think I'm pretty good at it. Unfortunately podcasting doesn't pay and even costs money for URL's, websites and podcast servers. I got to thinking my podcasts numbers are decent Knights of the Guild is averaging 6000 to 14000 a month and my MASH 4077 is averaging about 2500 downloads a month. I'm also starting up my new Confessions of a Fanboy podcast so will see what the numbers are like for that one as well. Regardless, if I was able to charge 99 cents per episode/download that would be a nice monthly income. But I do realize that paying for a podcast is not the "norm", that most podcasts are free to download. I'm sure I would lose a lot of listeners because of it, but even if a 1/3 of my listeners stuck with me and paid the 99 cents per download,  I could survive on that and create even more fun podcasts and making podcasting my new career.

Of course there is always a plan B. Again my numbers are decent I might be able to get some advertising and/or sponsorship and go that route. But without HUGE numbers I wouldn't be able to charge enough money to survive solely on my podcasting.

These ideas are all still in there early stages, gotta do a bit more research on both charging for podcasts and finding advertisers and sponsorship. Unfortunately that means I may have to take another stress filled post job before I can put anything of my plans into action. But I'm determined to make my future living as a professional podcaster.

Chatting with Felicia

Tonight after a 2 hour 10 minute commute home I barely had time to take off my shoes before I had to be online and chatting with Felicia Day over skype for some upcoming Knights of the Guild CompanionCasts. We discussed episodes 505 and 506 (this weeks and next weeks episodes) Felicia was kind enough, on her one day off from Eureka to chat with me. As always it was a fun chat. I love hearing Felicia's thoughts on these episodes, you really get some detailed behind the scenes information that you can't get any where else. After the interview I tried to edit a bit more of the next CompanionCast (due out Thursday PM) but was too tired and went to bed around 10 knowing I had to get up early for a conference call with New York MTV.

Heading Over to the Whedon's

Today after work I had the pleasure of going over to Maurissa Tancharoen Whedon's house to sit down and do an interview with her for some upcoming Knights of the Guild podcast. Her character Alena appeared in episode 4 and I unfortunately wasn't able to interview her for that episode but I wanted to make sure I got her for future episodes.  Well I got to her place around 7:30pm and she graciously welcomed me into her home. I set up my Ipad to watch the episodes we would be talking about. Jed came downstairs and joined us. After the episodes we did the interview for about thirty minutes. Got lots of great information and also got an update for her fans on Mo's health... btw she looks fantastic!!

After the interview Maurissa and I just sat around and chatted about life for the next hour and a half. It was great. I meet Maurissa on the set of Do You Want to Date My Avatar (as she was a dancer and Jed was directing it). We chatted for a bit then and a few other times at wrap parties or Felicia's gaming parties and even on set but we never got any real good one on one time with each other... until tonight and it was so much fun. We talked about her current health situation and my person life craziness as of late. She let me in on a few upcoming project that she and Jed are working on, she also took me upstairs where they do all their audio recording and editing.

About 9:30pm I said my good night and headed home. It was a fantastic way to end my day. Hopefully we have many more "hangouts" in our future.

My Return to Disneyland

Today I went to Disneyland to meet up with some "online" friends from Arizona. Both Al and his wife Joyce are huge Disney Fanatics and both have become really close to me though we had never met in person. They were here for D23, which is a big Disney convention so I thought it was time for me to visit the part again and finally meet two of my closest friends in person. They were in panels until around noon so I left my house around 9:30am and got the part around 11am. I've been wanting to buy and annual pass for a while now so when I got there I went to get it. I had planned to get a Deluxe ($380) one which allows you in both parks 315 days a year, which isn't bad. But then Joyce texted me and said "you should consider the Premium pass ($500) as you'll be paying $15 to park everytime you come" so it got me thinking, you pay $80 for one day pass at one park and $15 to park that's $95 a visit for one park only. If I come 6 times in a year that will pay for the Premium pass and you get free parking and you can visit both parks 365 days a year. Oh and you get 10 to 20% off food and merchandise.. sounded like a win win to me. I mean this was my first visit, I'm coming back again next month at the end of September and then once again in October when a friend comes down from Michigan. So that's three times in three months.. and who's to say I won't go in between those time.  Needless to say I got the premium pass.

I got into Disneyland around 11:30am and I figured my friends Al and Joyce would be heading over around Noon so I didn't want to get on any rides so I kind of wandered around, took some pictures, did lots of people watching.. it was actually nice being at Disneyland and not having to rush around feeling like you have to do to everything because you paid so much for your one day pass. Now I can leisurely enjoy the park. Al and Joyce made it over to Disneyland a little after 1pm.  They though they would sneak up on me by not telling me they were actually in the park but I actually spotted them and kind of followed behind them as they looked for. Until I finally said.. "who are  you looking for" It was like greeting old friends. If felt as though we've known each other for many years.. and the fact is we have known each other for a few years just never met in person.

First thing we did was grab some corn dogs as I was starving. After corn dogs we headed over to Star Tours (of course) and got in line. Said was going to be an hour but it actually took about 2 hours to get on. But I don't mind lines as long as I have someone to talk too. This was going to be my first time on the new and improved Star Tours. There are 54 different scenarios/combinations you can get. There are 4 different variation to the story.. (1) We got Darth Vader attacking (2) then went to Tatooine and got in a pod racing game (3) Yoda came to us (4) we were in a battle over Coruscant and then flew into the planet and through traffic. The new ride is so much fun.. felt like it just flew by. I can see myself riding this again and again and again.

After Star Tours we headed to Space Mountain.. at least Joyce and I did  as Al is not a big fan of roller coasters. It was nice having some one on one time with Joyce. She's one of the sweetest people I know and we've had some great talks over facebook. We had a great time on Space Mountain.

We met back up with Al and I wanted to go shopping. I wanted to pick up a Captain EO tshirt and a few Star Tours thing. I got my Captain EO shirt and also picked up an AWESOME Star Tours tshirt and one of my most favorite things my R2D2 Mickey ears with my name on the back.

After we did that we headed over to Disney California Adventure to go on the new Little Mermaid ride. That was actually alot of fun. Kind of reminded me of the Haunted Mansion (but less scary of course) same type of chairs and mover. But well worth the hour wait in line.

We then went and had dinner at an Italian restaurant which I can't remember the name of but it was some very good food. After that we headed over to the Toy Story ride (which I have never done) and stood in live for a good hour or so for that ride and I have to say that is one of my new favorites. I had blast trying to beat Al.. in the end he killed me but it was so much fun.. that's defiantly a must ride when I visit the parks.

I really wanted to do ElecTRONica so they took me over to that section and it was like a big Rave.. loud music and laser lights all over the place.. it was pretty great.

It's was now 9:30pm and I had planned to stay to Midnight but that wasn't going to happen. I was tired and my feet were hurting and I still have at least an hour and fifteen minute drive home, but before we left Al and Joyce had never had a Churro so of course I had to buy them one and they both really enjoyed them. After that we said our goodbyes and I got back on the tram to go to my car. Finally got on the road around 10pm and traffic was pretty heavy but I did manage to get home around 11:30pm.

Anyways it was a wonderful day. I finally got to meet two of my best friends and it was great visiting Disneyland again and now that I have my annual pass I'm sure I'll be going several times a month if not more.. that place is and will always be Magical!!!

Late Podcast

Today I had to get my next Knights of the Guild CompanionCast done as it was suppose to be released yesterday. So I got up early and worked (edited) the entire thing. Took me about 13 hours (with a few breaks) to get it done from beginning to end. I normally work on podcast a few hours here and a few hours there over days but since things have been so crazy and I've been so emotionally and physically exhausted I just haven't had the time. But now that the podcast was late I had no choice but to work those 13 hours straight to get it done and up for everyone to enjoy. That pretty much took up my entire Saturday as I expected it to. I cleaned around the house a bit and watched some TV but the entire day was editing my KOTG podcasts.. And now that that is done.. I have another one due next Thursday that I haven't started yet and a new MASH 4077 podcast due in about week and a half. Oh and I'm trying to get my first episode of Confessions of a Fanboy out as well. There just isn't enough time in the day to do everything I would like to do. Luckily all these things aren't life or death, so they can be delayed if needed.

One Week Later

Well it's been one week since Harry and I said goodbye. And this is the first weekend were I'm home completely alone. But I can say I'm doing much better then I was last weekend. I spent the entire weekend alone crying on and off. But this weekend I'm doing much better. I mean my heart still hurts and I'm sure it will for a while but I'm learning to live with that feeling. I'm keeping busy with work and podcasting but also cleaning up the house. Now that Daisy is gone I'm giving the house a good cleaning to get rid of all her hair. I'm kind of "spring" cleaning, getting rid of stuff that I haven't used in a year. It's going to take several weeks, maybe even months but I'll have streamlined my belongings soon. One of these weekends I'm going to tackle the garage where all my toys are being stored. Anyways.. I'm happy to report that one week later I'm doing better and I want to thank all my friends in real life and online for all your love and support.

Fun Night

Well after work today I had planned to go over to Kim Evey's house to interview her for a few of the upcoming Knights of the Guild CompanionCasts. Well about an hour before I left work I texted her to make sure we were still on and she said to come to Greg Aronowitz's house. Didn't really think much of it, just figured they were working on a new project or something. So I get to Greg's around 7:30pm (traffic was great) and as I'm parking I get a text from Kim asking me what my ETA is as she and Greg are hungry. I told her I was just outside the gate and would be inside in a few.

When I got in there I found Vu Bui loading up his equipment. Looks as though he was doing  interviews with Greg and Kim for the upcoming Guild Season 5 DVD extras. Also saw something that Greg was currently working on that was AWESOME!!!! Of course I can't say what it is.. but OMG I loved it. Anyways Greg, Kim, Vu and his friend and I went to a Rib place on Venture Blvd. I had never been there before and it was quite expensive but the potions were huge and the food was wonderful. We spent the next two hours chatting and laughing. It was a really good night and something that I needed badly. Found out about Kim and Greg's next project, got some juicy details about BTS of The Guild that I was unaware of. It was just fun chatting about everything with these guys.

After dinner Kim, Greg and I went back to his place were I interviewed Kim about episodes 4, 5 and 6. Finally at midnight we called it a night. I still have to drive home and Kim still had work to do with Greg. It was a long night but so much fun.. hope I have more nights like that in the near future.

Daisy Arrives in Austria

Well I'm happy to blog that Daisy has made it to Austria. I don't want to think about all the stress she must have went through in the long travel.. just that she is reunited with her daddy once again. She can spent her remaining years loving the countryside. And she loves snow.. so she'll love the winters there.

Harry said as soon as she saw him she became over excited and couldn't wait to say hello... that made me smile.

Pottermore Continues

Well today I finished with book 1 and that's as far as it goes. I went back to the beginning and did another pass to see if I missed anything. I also tried to make a potion and failed miserable. I practise my wand work for a bit to help if someone challanges me to a dual. Found my missing 11th Chololate frog and found a few more Galleons. I think I unlocked all the "extra" info from Mrs Rowlings and man was it as awesome stuff. My favorites were by far the Wand lore information and of course Minerva Mcgonagall's entire back story.. what a tragic life.. made me cry and made that character so much more richer then before.. can't wait to go back and re-read the story now.

Not sure when book 2 is coming out but there is plenty to do... time to earn some house points and I'm determined to make a proper potion in the allotted time.

My Hogwarts House

Well finally made my way through Pottermore to the part that I think most people are really looking forward to getting to.. the sorting. Now this is as official as it can get as JK herself created this test to place you into a house. It's like five or six questions with multiple choice answers. And you just have to honest truthfully and I have to admit some of the questions were tough to answer as multiple answers would have worked with me but I really looked deep inside me and answered with my first thought.

Now from the house descriptions I always believed I was a Hufflepuff, it's not the most popular house but Hufflepuff's are hard working, just, and kind. Loyal friends and true at heart. So I was 99% sure that was the house I was going to get sorted into.. well when it was revealed I was a bit shocked.

Yeah I'm a Gryffindor, of course if you ask most folks Gryffindor is one of the most popular houses and of course Dumbledore and Harry Potter are both Gryffindor. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get a different house as which ever house you get you would get a bit more background info about that house and of course Gryffindor is the main house we know alot about that house already. But the Sorting Hat has chosen me to be a Gryffindor, it obviously saw something inside of me that I haven't see yet... so Go!! Go!! Gryffindor

Saying Goodbye to Daisy

This morning Daisy begins her adventure to relocate to Austria. When Harry decided to go back to Austria after our break up we both knew he was going to take our dog Daisy. Though we both love her dearly it's clear that Daisy sees Harry has the alpha and adores him. We've had her for six years and Harry has been with her everyday for those six years.

Now we didn't want to go with shipping Daisy like a piece of luggage in the haul of an airplane. So Harry researched and found a company that does door to door service. They also handle all the paperwork to get through customs and such. They come to your house and pick her up and and personally make sure she gets on the plane in a special "pet's only" section and then they fly with her to Austria and deliver her to Harry's front door. It's a long process and extremely expensive (over $6000) but Daisy is like our child and totally worth it.

I got up around 6am to spend some final time with Daisy, lots of petting. I took her for several walks as I knew the flight was a long one (27 hours with layovers). At around 8:45 the driver showed up and we loaded up her crate. Daisy seemed to like him and wasn't as scared as I thought she would be. I mean she loves going places in the car so when the guy said "come on Daisy, let's go for a ride" she immediately jumped in the van and with a little coaching from me she went into the crate. He said he would take good care of her. Since her flight isn't until later in the day 3pmish, he planned on letting her out and walk around at the airport a bit. Of course he could have just left in there all day but I would like to think that he would keep his word, he seemed like a really nice guy.

So I said my final goodbye and she wasn't wining or anything, which made me feel better as I figure she would think that I was giving her away to a stranger. But I know in the end when she sees Harry all will be forgotten and she will be a much happier little girl.

Now the worse part is waiting over those 27 yours for a text from Harry letting me know arrived safely and is extremely happy to see him.

So during my lunch I got in again. For the next two hours I was in heaven. Right off the bat you get additional information about the Harry Potter World. Here are some of my tweets about my first reactions.

I have just entered Pottermore, & the story begins, started the 1st chapter. But I have to go do work, will explore more later. #pottermore

Hmm choices, choices.. Owl, cat or toad? #Pottermore

OMG.. so many cool things to buy at Diagon Alley, Not sure if we can earn more Galleons or does this need to last all 7 years. #pottermore

Going with an Owl, now which type. Brown, Barn, Tawny or Screech. Guess Potter is the only one allowed to get a Snowy one #Pottermore

Went with a Tawny Owl, I liked the look of him. About to get my Wand.. so excited!!! #Pottermore

#Pottermore is the coolest thing ever.. only been on it a few hours and up to Chapter 5 but have learned so much more about this world.

As you can see I was very excited about exploring Pottermore. There is so much to see and read that I'm sure when I go back from the beginning I'll pick up even more. I can see this being a time sucker so I'm trying to make it last as long as possible for the enjoyment. A few hours here, a few hours there.

Next up is getting sorted into a house. I'm thinking I'm Hufflepuff so it will be interesting to see which house I'm sorted into.. Stay Tuned.

Here's my Wand

Quit my Job

Well I did for all of thirty minutes. I am working at home today because I'm waiting for some paperwork to be Fedex'd to me for Daisy's vet appointment tomorrow. Everything has to happen on time or she won't make her flight on Wednesday. So I worked from home. While I was at home I got another reprimanding email from the line producer complaining about one thing or another. I'm already in an emotional state from the break up, so it took all my strength to email her back and say that I was sorry that I was unaware of this rule and it won't happen again. It would have been fine if she would have left it.. but that's not her style. She had to get the last derogatory word in and that was it. I had had enough and wrote this:

"Person's name".. I think it's time that you look for a new post production supervisor. I'm tired of getting reprimanded for things I "should" have known. This is my first gig with "Network I work for", I don't know these "rules" you keep throwing in my face. I am doing the best I can and if that is not good enough then by all means find a replacement because I won't put up with being your whipping boy whenever there is a money issue in post."

It felt good.. she and I have been butting heads for a few months and I have been close to my boiling point several time and to finally let off some steam was great.

I didn't want to quit, I love everyone else I work with but I'm too old and set in my ways to put up with continuous crap from people. Also if I quit I would not be able to collect unemployment but I didn't care.

Well thirty minutes later I got an email from the post producer (someone I work with hand in hand with in post) She had talked with the person I had an issue with and with the show runner and they really wanted me to stay, they said we would all have a meeting on Thursday and talk it out. I agreed to stay part loyalty to those two and part funding for my European Trip I hope to take next year.  But I did say I won't put up with her crap anymore. One snide remark and I'm outta here.

So I go into work tomorrow, luckily she and I work in different buildings so we won't have to see each other until Thursday. I hope we can work things out I would like to finish this job in mid September. But I also am tired, emotionally drained and stressed out and have no problem quitting on a moments notice.

The Day After

Didn't sleep to well, as expected. But I got up early to work on some podcasts. Figured if I kept my mind busy I wouldn't be dwelling on the fact that Harry is no longer here. So that is pretty much what I did all day. I worked on the next MASH 4077 Podcast & my Knights of the Guild minicast, which took about ten hours to finish and between podcasting I took breaks to watch some TV and clean around the house. Was going to try and work on my new podcast Confessions of a Fanboy but by 8pm I was so exhausted and ready for bed, but I did mange to stay awake a bit longer to finish up the two podcasts I did get done today as they were being released at midnight tonight. Finally went to bed around 11pm.

I've come to realize why Harry's leaving hit me so hard and unexpectedly. I came out of the closet when I was 27 about to turn 28. Before that I had never been in a relationship and once I was out, from age 28 to 32 I only dated six guys and the longest relationship I had was six months. Then I meet Harry and he was the one, he was the one I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Well eight years later (and because of our government and other circumstances) our relationship ended. This was my first "real" break up, my first "real" broken heart. I'm 40 years old and I guess I've been lucky but I've never been this close to anyone in my entire life and then to have them be gone. No amount of preparation could prepare you for that. I have been fortunate and I've never lost (death) someone I was extremely close with. So I have never had to deal with this feeling of "never seeing that person again". Now of course Harry's isn't dead and I can still talk, text or skype with him. But since he's in Europe and I can't just go hang out with him, and I feel that same feeling of lose.

I'm happy to say that I am doing okay, not better, but okay. I don't think I cried the entire day. My heart hurts like I never thought it could, but I know this pain will go away in time and I'll learn to cope with the lose and move on. Right now I'm taking it a day at a time.

Saying Goodbye

Well the day has finally come. Though Harry and I have been broken up since February we still lived together, ate together and pretty much did everything we did when we were a couple. But today is the day Harry heads back to Austria.

This morning Harry ran around a few hours finishing up things and making sure he had everything before we left for the airport. Harry's flight was at 4:30pm but we needed to be there 3 hours in advance so we got there around 1pm and after going into the wrong terminal we finally found the correct terminal and got in line as the ticket windows were still closed.

Since Harry was here illegally for eight years we weren't sure how easy it was going to be for him to leave without immigration getting involved. Well the ticket windows opened and we walked up and he gave them his temporary passport and print out ticket. A few minutes later we took his bags to the X-ray scanners and walked to the entrance to the TSA check.

We said our goodbyes.. I thought I would cry but I didn't. I did cry a bit when we were getting ready to leave for the airport but I kept stopping myself. But now that we were saying goodbye.. no tears. I knew it would only be temporary. We didn't really say much to each other. I gave him a hug, said we had a great 8 years and he entered the line to go through the TSA.

I walked back to car and manage to get on the freeway before the tears started rolling. But I couldn't breakdown while driving on the freeway so I held it in. I got a text from Harry about a half hour later informing me that he got through TSA with no issues and it now waiting to get on the plane. I stopped by El Pollo Loco for some comfort food and made my way home. Soon as I got on the dirt road to our house the waterworks started to flow.

I made it home and greeted Daisy who kept looking for Harry. As I started to eat I looked over at Harry's recliner and it hit me that Harry was not coming back, he's not out at the store and will return in an hour. He's never coming back. As I looked around there are so many things in this house that remind me of him. This was our house, we purchased this together, we painted every room, we purchased every piece of furniture. I couldn't stop myself and I just balled. I cried uncontrollably like I had never cried before. My heart was hurting as the realization of my situation hit me like a brick wall.

Poor Daisy had no idea what was going on, I lost my appetite and just felt numb. The crying continued on an off for hours, but I'm feeling a bit better. It's funny I know we are broken up and it's for the better. Both Harry and I agree that our situation was not good. But being with someone for eight years and seeing them day in and day out, regardless on being partners or not I love him and will always love him.

I have had so many facebook comments, tweets and texts of love and support and I appreciate it but for this weekend I just want to be alone. I don't want to talk to anyone or see anyone. I just need time to recover from this I know it will take more then a weekend to get over it but I'm taking babies steps and putting one foot in front of the other. I promise I'll be back to my happy go lucky Kenny but for now I just need to cry.

I'm Blown Away!!!

So if you are a regular follower of my tweets, facebook or blog you'll know that my podcasting equipment was stolen on the last day of San Diego Comic Con. Well several folks/friends approached me about doing something about it, Brian suggested a Kickstarter project which I like and he just ran with it. Next thing I knew we had some pretty sweet rewards to offer and over the next two weeks Brian, Teresa and I worked on getting this Kickstarter project going. Well it launched at midnight tonight and I was worried that I asked for too much that I wasn't going to able to make the $2500 goal in 21 days.

Well five minutes after I had posted it, I had 3 backers and my total was $350. So I went to bed feeling pretty good about this. Got up this morning and I had 16 backers and my total was $830 and as I was getting ready for work it went up to $1020. I was almost halfway there and it had only been eight hours. When I got to work at 10am my total was up to $1380, and I was getting a ton more backers.. then around 11am someone purchased our big ticket item for $650 and that gave me a total of $2030. By noon I was just a few hundred away from my goal of $2500 then someone purchased one of the $400 rewards and that did it.. that pushed me pass my goal and I'm currently at $2630.

This project funded in 13 hours.. AMAZING!!! I am totally blown away and overwhelmed by the support I have received. I can't thank you all enough for supporting me and my little podcasts. With these funds I'll be able to buy new and even better podcasting equipment.

We still have lots of great Guild / Knights of the Guild rewards to give a way. If you want to make a donation please do so. The additional money will go to upgrading equipment and paying for URL's and websites.

Thanks again everyone!!!

It’s time once again for the next CompanionCasts for The Guild Season Five. First of all be sure you watched Episode 3 of season 5 “Megagame-o-ramacon!”. If you haven’t seen it yet watch it HERE

Our Season 4 CompanionCasts were a huge hit so we thought we would do them again for Season 5. So what is a CompanionCast?? It’s a behind the scene look at the current episode of The Guild.

I was on set everyday while they shot Season 5. As actors and crew were finished with scenes I would try and speak to them. Get some inside info about the scene they just shot. I also interviewed Felicia Day and Kim Evey about the storyline and Sean Becker about the directing. Each one of these CompanionCasts will be episode specific and will vary in length depending on how much guildie goodness I am able to gather.

In this CompanionCast I interview Felicia Day, Sean Becker, Kim Evey, Sandeep Parikh, Robin Thorsen, Jeff Lewis, Amy Okuda, Vince Caso, Hayley Holmes and Greg Aronowitz

I hope you enjoy a look behind the scenes of Season 5 Episode 3 “Megagame-o-ramacon!”

Harry Potter in Six Minutes

This is pretty good.. Movies 1 - 7 part 1 told in 6 minutes.

In A Funk

Not sure what's really going on with me but I've been so tired and lazy this entire week. Maybe it's work, the stress levels are off the chart and I just keep telling myself six more weeks.. only six more weeks. But when I get home I'm exhausted and all I want to do is eat dinner and watch TV.

Well I can't do that. I have the next CompanionCast due tomorrow Friday 8/12, the next MASH 4077 Podcast due next Monday 8/15 and the next Knights of the Guild podcast due next Monday 8/15 and not to mention I'm trying to launch my new podcast Confessions of a Fanboy this weekend.

The past few days I have sat in front of my computer around 10pm to get some work done on any of these podcast and I'm just not motivated. I did a bit of work on the next MASH podcast on Monday and yesterday I forced myself to work from 10pm to Midnight on tomorrows CompanionCast. I haven't even recorded the next KOTG yet, not sure that's going to happen.

I'm sure it's a combination of work, stress, the fact that Harry leaves on Saturday and Daisy leaves on Wednesday.. things are kind of crazy in my life at the moment. Hopefully it's a temporary funk. But I still have to work tonight on finishing the CompanionCast for S5E3 and then this weekend on my other three podcasts. Gotta get my podcasts out!!

Visiting Family

Today Harry and I went to visit my family. This was Harry's last time visiting them before he heads back to Austria. We did our routine and picked up my Dad and took him to our favorite Chinese restaurant called Hong Kong. We then went back to my brothers house and hung out with my dad, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. I played with Kenobi, he just loves the iPad so when I brought mine in he had to play with it as well. We played games for about an hour and then he found the Photobooth app and we had a little fun.

Harry said his goodbyes (for the final time) and we made our way home. It seems like everything Harry does this week will be his last. Last time he had to drive to my Dads, last time he is going to eat Hong Kong and Miguel's Jr. (which we picked up for dinner later that day). Last time he'll visit with my family. Lot's of last times. :(

Ipad Accessories

Today Harry and I went shopping for Ipad accessories. First stop was Best Buy, were to got a Camera Connection Kit which includes a USB adaptor which is what I really wanted. We then went back and forth on cases and wireless keyboard and in the end only got a wireless keyboard as none of the cases really stood out to us.

We then went to the Apple store to see about getting a case for the iPad there. Though we didn't find the case we both got a Smart covers and I picked another set of Earphone with Remote and Mic, as my previous ones were stolen. I also grabbed a dual USB car charger as once again my previous one was stolen.

Though we didn't find cases we got plenty of other goodies for our iPads. One thing is for sure.. owning a iPad is not cheap.. spent over $325 dollars today on just accessories.

One Week From Today

Wow.. one week from today Harry will be on a plane back to Austria. Never would have thought when I meet him eight + years ago that this would ever end, but it just goes to show you that you never know what your future holds. Though we've been broken up for months now it doesn't really feel like we have broken up. During those months we lived together, eaten together, watch TV together and hung out like we did when we were a couple. But as the day approaches of him actually leaving I'm feeling more emotional about it. And I guess that is to be expected. Not that I ever expected to get back together with him, but him leaving actually makes it real. I've come home everyday from work the past eight years and he's been there to greet me. But a week from today he won't be.

I'll be alone for the first time in eight years. Part of me can't wait for that, as I've always lived with someone, first my parents, then roommates. I did have a 10 month stay of living alone before meeting Harry. But part of me will be lonely, I don't like being alone. I'm going to be living in the middle of no where in a big house all by myself and that's going to take some getting use to. I'm sure I'll cry when we say goodbye, this past week I've cried on my way home from work just thinking about the whole situation. Not sure what my future holds, but I'm looking forward to taking that first step.

My New iPad

Today our new iPads showed up. I had to replace my stolen netbook and instead of buying another netbook I opted to go with an iPad 2. A friend of mine (Lisa) works for Apple and was gracious enough to let us use her "friends and family" discount... and by we I mean Harry and I as we both have been wanting to get one.

So they arrived in the afternoon and I was still at work so I had to wait until I got home to open it and play around. I got home around 9pm and immediately opened my iPad to check it out. First thing that Harry and I did was plug into our computers and start downloading Apps. Since I have an iPhone I already had quite a few apps but Harry was starting from scratch. But I did know the very first app I was going to download was the Star Trek Padd app.. which I did and it's AWESOME!!! Didn't get a lot of time to explore it as I had to go to bed and get up for work tomorrow but I know days this will become my favorite new toy and I'm hoping I can use it alot for my podcasting.

What A Day!!!

Started off getting my Jeep smogged. The older the jeep gets the more worried I am that one day it won't pass smog. My tags expired at the end of July but because the DMV is so backed up the extended it for another month. But my jeep passed and I finished renewing my registration.

I got up early to get the smog so I was finished by 9am, which gave me an hour to get to work. I normally hit traffic but today it was sooo horrible. It started backing up at Nordoff and for those who don't know the 405 that's about 4 miles from where it normally does. It was hot and my jeep as no AC so I'm sweating, sitting in traffic and it was miserable. It's times like that when I ask myself, why do I work so far away from where I live. But even with the bad traffic I got to work around 10:20.

Lot's to do today.. well everyday now that the show are starting to finish up. And as soon as I sat down problems started to happen. One issue was an actual mistake that I made but luckily it wasn't too bad and was fixable. Around lunch I needed a break and walked to a local food court. While there I got a call asking why I wasn't on this weekly chat (every week each department jumps on a conference call and goes over their status). Well I never got the email informing me of this so that is why I wasn't on this call. I then got a call from "someone" and they started to yell at me, saying it wasn't their responsibility to make sure I'm on the calls... blah blah blah.. Don't  have a clue why they were attacking me but I didn't appreciate it and did everything in my power not to yell back. I too old to be yelled at. There is a way to talk to people and this wasn't the correct way. I'm on the verge of just walking, of course I would burn a few bridges but to be honest I don't care. Only thing that's keeping me here is loyalty to a few co-workers and if I quit I can't collect unemployment.

It's now 5pm and only have a few more hours left in the office but things seemed to have died down a bit. At least enough for me a breath and calm down from earlier events. So for now I'll stick it out.. only have another month and a half, but it's going to be a really hard and stressful month and a half... ugg!!

Booking my Florida Trip to WWofHP

This has been a Potter kind of day. My day started with a buddy signing me up for Pottermore, my user name is FireboltCrimson66 and I finally after putting it off for a few month because my work end date kept getting pushed back. Well regardless if my job gets pushed back the time has come to book a flight and hotel. I've been wanting to go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter since it opened last June 2010.  So today I did it.. I booked my flight for Monday October 3rd and will be returning to LA on Friday October 7th. So I arrive Monday, attending The Wizarding World on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then flying back home on Friday. I was going to stay another week and do Disney World since I have never been there but it came down to cost. With my flight, hotel and 3 day pass at Universal it's costing me about $1000. Since I will not be working and have no job lined up I figured it was best to limit my costs so I opted to only do Universal this trip and plan a Disney World trip in the future.

Anyways I'm extremely excited to be going. I am going solo but that really doesn't bother me, but if there are any friends out there who want to join me please drop me a line. Of course I'll be taking daily video and pictures and blogging about each day there. October 3rd can't get here soon enough!!!

Pottermore

First of all if you don't know what Pottermore is it's an online community for Harry Potter fans, there is nothing else like it out there. They started beta testing it on Sunday July 31st (Harry Potter's Birthday). 7 Books, 7 Days, 7 Chances is there slogan. Once a day The Magical Quill will appear and ask a question. If you answer it correctly and there are still slots you can get in to be a beta tester. Well the first day was Sunday and it happened sometime in the early AM, 2am I think so when I got up and went to the page it informed me that Day 1 registration was closed... it was only 7am and already closed.

So I was determined to stay up last night for Day 2. Well 1am came and I fell asleep. They don't announce the times but they seem to be more European times while it's super early here in the US, especially the west coast. Anyways by the time I got up at 7am Day 2 registration was closed. I was bummed, figured I wasn't going to be one of the beta testers and would just join in October when it opens up to the public.

Well I get on my computer and noticed a message from my buddy Jerod. he said "Oh by the way I signed you up for Pottermore, I hope you don't", "you're password is ******". I was in shock.. I wasn't sure which email account he used or anything so I quickly went to my Gmail account and there was the email informing me that my Pottermore user name is FireboltCrimson66 and all I had to do is click on this link enter my password and a letter(invite) would be sent to me with in two weeks. So I clicked the link and that's it.. I'm now part of Pottermore. Waiting for my letter with my official invite but I sat there with tears in my eyes. I couldn't believe how awesome Jerod was for doing that. I never mentioned it to him I only tweeted a few tweets yesterday about not being able to get an invite and here it is.

I truly have some amazing friends.. Thank Jerod.. you made this one of the best Monday in a long time.

KOTG CC Pick Up Interviews

Today I headed over the Kim Evey's house were several of the Guild cast were being interviewed for some DVD extras stuff. Since I wasn't able to interview everyone on set during the shooting of Season 5 I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to sit down while they are waiting to be interview and interview them myself.

When I first got there Sean Becker was being interviewed by the DVD crew and Vince was just hanging out waiting for his turn so I grabbed and we needed to talk Episodes 11 & 12 as I had gotten everything else on set. Had a great conversation with him and then Sean Becker came out and podbombed us.. it was pretty funny.

Vince went in to do his DVD interviews and I sat down with Sean Becker to discuss episode 3, when none other then Miss Felicia Day came in and podbombed Sean's interview.. at first she just stood there staring at him while he talked and made him uncomfortable.. then they bantered back and forth.. great stuff.

After Sean I went in and watched Felicia being interviewed for the DVD. I had already talked to her about a few episodes so didn't need to interview her today. My next interview was Amy and that was a great interview, lots of cool info about Amy and her thoughts on Tink this season. And finally my last interview for the day was Robin and she's always a laugh.. it was a nice way to end the day.

Got lots of great audio clips for some upcoming KOTG CompanionCasts.. can't wait share them with you all. Remember new episodes are out every Friday following a new episode of The Guild
